The heater in my room didn't work and had to make do with a mobile heater. Also by having my breakfast at 9am the bacon and sausage looked like they had been cooked at 7am and my egg was under cooked and I felt the dinningroom staff couldMr GRT served quick enough.

We had a lovely weekend away for our anniversary. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The location is great, the food was exceptional. The room was very spacious, well kept and clean. There were plenty of amenities available and extra brought to your room. Good social distancing measures in place. Only downside was the pool area was outdated. It could do with some refurbishment.

Lovely relaxing stay for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. Got married in this hotel last year and had a fantastic wedding day. Wanted to return for our 1st anniversary, the hotel upgraded us to the honeymoon suite which was totally unexpected. So thank you it was a wonderful stay

Room disaster

The door lock to our room didn't work and the staff couldn't fix it so we were only able to access the room if reception let us in. At midnight water started to pour through the bathroom light fitting from the room above. The night staff thankfully moved us and were very helpful (Ian) but moving our 5 year old and all of our things at 0030 was not great!

A quick overnight stop between visiting daughters. Clean and comfortable. The room looks a little dated, as does the bathroom.

Poor location a long way outside Tunbridge Wells, hotel in need of a facelift!

Booked a superior room and got upgraded to a suite which was nice, but the room was dark and the paintwork chipped and peeling, not very attractive (and didn't feel very clean to be honest). we understand it must be difficult for the staff who did their best but it wasn't a very enjoyable stay. We ordered a bottle of champagne in the bar (it was our friend's birthday) but it wasn't cold, and took a while to come despite their being no other guests waiting.

Thought we were getting a family deal. However, when arrived, informed the deal code had not gone through system. Meant to have got two nights with breakfast and dinner. Went home after one night!

Staff were friendly and accommodating. It was good to see the one way system in place as a measure to maintain social distancing. Also comforting to see other guests wearing masks in .common areas. The swimming pool had a booking system again to maintain social distancing. The hotel is well located, there is a Tesco's supermarket within a 7 minute walk, and the high streets with restaurants is within a 10-minute drive. Had a nice relaxed stay at the Mercure Tunbridge, thank you.

COVID-19 safe

We have stayed in this Mercure hotel several times before. The hotel seemed well organised to be COVID safe without spoiling the experience. The restaurant meal was very good as was the service - including Ernest who has served us on previous occasions. The second night Tee (Teagen?) served us a meal in the bar area and was teally o0n the ball and worked hard to give us a good experience. The reception staff were not so on the ball. The WiFi speed in our room was virtually non-existent at less than 1mbps!! I asked the receptionist to help me as I had a Zoom called later that day - she said she would look at what could be done and get back to me. She never did and I had to find my own solution which was inconvenient. So there are two problems/opportunities here to firstly improve reception service, and secondly to ensure fast WiFi speed throughout the hotel (which is easy in this day and age).

Great staff, all of them! The bed however was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever tried to sleep in! I didn’t actually sleep at all the entire night!

Had a lovely night away with what we hoped to be a spa day included however due to COViD restrictions we were only able to get one hour in the pool and the beauty place, massages, facials, sauna and steam room were unavailable to use. This is totally understandable however the voucher claimed that we would have full access to spa facilities (despite having explained closures due to COVID-19), which did not happen. Little bit of false advertisement, despite this, the food was beautiful and delicious and the room was clean and enjoyable. Just a shame about the pool and that it isn’t managed so 12 people were in the pool at one time despite COVID-19, felt rather unsafe in the pool but had a wonderful time elsewhere.

While we didn't receive all of the information that would have been useful to know when we arrived for our stay (e.g. how to use the pool, obtain towels, order extra tea and coffee and information about the fact that the room is not made up daily at the moment), whenever we asked questions, the hotel staff were helpful. The staff were mindful of social distancing rules and attentive in the restaurant.

My self & my daughter had a good time. The room was vey comfy & clean The pool was good. Sad that sauna etc wasn't open but understand why. Staff were very kind & helpful Restaurant staff was great at serving. The pizza was delicious. The Breakfast was amazing. The menu was very limited & the dishes I chose were a bit tasteless. Needed dressing on the salad & seasoning more. Didn't feel there was enough choice for fussy eaters.
