It was lovely, the staff went above and beyond and were so polite. The bar man was so polite and showed up the room for wedding hire as it wasn't busy, he went above and beyond with his customer service, was funny and polite

Our experience at Mercure Tunbridge Wells was positive from the start. You can immediately see the care that has been taken to keep everyone safe - clear arrows to show you where to walk, lots of hand sanitiser available throughout, etc. The lady at reception was friendly and welcoming , and had some good tips of places to visit with our little one. The room was spacious and looked very clean. The beds were super comfy too. The breakfast was very generous - a choice of a 'full english' or wide selection of cereals, yoghurts pastries etc. The best part for us was the pool - of course it is a shame that the COVID restrictions mean you have to book time slots and limited spaces are available, but the pool itself is lovely, and we found that each family unit using it just sort of stuck to their own space and this was fine, we had plenty of room to splash about. The only thing that was not so great was the WIFI access. it wasn't a big deal on this trip as I didn't need it much, and as such I didn't try very hard (so maybe if you really needed it and put a bit more effort in you could get it to work better) but I couldn't get any signal at all in our room - and we were quite close to the reception area. Apart from this, I genuinely could not fault this hotel, and we would definitely stay there again.

After reading a few 'not-so-positive' reviews, I wasn't expecting much from this stay other than a nice sleep and breakfast. Turns out, the rooms were very well cleaned and in decent condition with a delicious breakfast to follow! Service was yet to be admired but nothing negative could be said about this visit!

Stupid rules re swimming pool - wasn’t even informed of the rules Of having to book the swimming absolutely stupid Seem more keen on using it for schools then guests Then given a rubbish story about it being too big without lifeguards - I have been to bigger swimming pools at hotels without guards It might occur to your staff to not be accusing and assume guests know the rules as I wasn’t informed about the need to book At least they refunded the small inflexible breakfast Shame a lovely place spoilt with rotten rules I never been so embarrassed with the staff member showing off in front of the school swimming teacher

We have stayed a few times before, and has always been great for our purpose of visiting family. Staff always welcoming and helpful, rooms clean (good cleaning staff) and comfortable enough. Travis on reception was very friendly and helpful when we arrived.

We chose to go to the Mercure, Tunbridge Wells, with our Buy a Gift voucher. We were advised that this would be a luxury spa break, with a three course meal and breakfast. Calling the experience a ‘spa’ was not strictly correct, even with the Covid-19 restrictions in place. All that was available to us was a swimming pool, with no changing rooms. The three course meal was quite frankly terrible. My wife had the mushroom vol-au-vent to start, which was cold. Her burger was incredibly over done and chewy, verging on the inedible. I chose the chicken tikka masala, which was quite obviously a microwave meal. For the price, it was a bit of a joke. The poppadoms were tiny, as was the naan bread. The masala itself had five ten pence sized pieces of chicken. Again, the quality of the chicken was very poor. The desert was fine, but far from luxurious and was comparable to a frozen apple pie that you would find in a low budget supermarket. Breakfast wasn’t great either to be honest. My wife had to send hers back to the kitchen as it was cold on service. Decor in the restaurant itself was quite peculiar and there was no atmosphere in the evening whatsoever. Very poor value for money. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

Check in was fine - when I asked if there is a fridge or / and water in the room, I was told that water could be sent to the room. I’d expect bottles of water to be in room complimentary. Our room was based at the far end of hotel next to the road, had to go up some stairs & throigh quite a few doors to get there. With a young child I would have preferred somewhere closer to the vehicle - since we had to carry own luggage back & forth with no lifts. Not ideal. The dinner was ‘average’. The staff was great. The dinner was really not tasty and in hindsight we should rather have gone to a proper restaurant. Won’t eat there again. The bedroom & beds were comfortable. The coffee served at breakfast was good. Did not really use any other facilities.

We had our wedding here in May 2021 and it was fabulous even with the pandemic rules. These had just been relaxed slightly. We had 30 guests and the staff and management were great. Nothing was too much trouble. Ther were polite and helpful. The reception and ceremony.suite looked beautifully laid out. Our day was enjoyed by all..

under covid 19 restrictions, breakfast in a bag if your lucky and it arrives, bar nearly open, restraunt ok ish, bill at the end of a pre paid pre booked stay could have been interesting, ( price of rooms dependent on how busy the hotel is ) but argued the point and got it sorted, generally I think the hotel could have tried a bit harder,
