Love my stays with you - on this occasion it wasn't long enough - the bed was comfy and I had a wonderful rest. Wish I stayed for breakfast - but next time for sure! Thank you for the treats in my room!

Our room was not available when we arrived, so we went to the lounge to wait for reception to call us. An hour later, we were still waiting. On checking with reception, our room was ready, but no one had remembered that we were waiting. We were then asked whether we were staying for a special occasion, I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday later in the stay. The receptionist said she would make sure the birthday was acknowledged. It was not! We had booked a suite which was nice, lovely new carpet. The shower was terrible though, no hot water for ages and only the old fashioned plumbing with hot and cold taps having to be adjusted to get a suitable temperature. We used the executive lounge for drinks and canapés, the food was of a good standard. Breakfast in Tapestry restaurant was reasonable.

The first day of our stay was amazing, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite with living room, bedroom and bathtub (which we specifically wanted). On the second day we had an event at 4pm, before leaving we asked reception to send the cleaning crew and water bottles to our room, we even left the sign “please make our room” outside the door. Upon returning to our room at 9pm, we were disappointed to find one water bottle in front of our door and our room just as we had left it. When we told reception, they offered to change our room, unfortunately it was a downgrade (studio) with a shower instead of the bathtub we wanted. As this was clearly not an adequate exchange for reception making the mistake, we returned to our original room and cleaned up dishes, towels and made the bed instead of relaxing at 10pm… When we checked out, they told us they would take the “room transfer” and “surcharge” off the bill. It was extremely disappointing to have such a professional establishment make such a mistake and such a poor attempt at fixing it! We will abstract from going there again as we do not approve of their methods!
