Stayed for a night with a friend when we were attending an awards ceremony. The whole place was presented beautifully, valet parking was great and they were very friendly. Check in friendly and professional.
Unfortunately our room was stinking hot and we had to open the windows (not ideal with the city noise) and keep them open all night, which resulted in very little sleep. The very old heating system just wouldn't turn down colder. The wall cover that hides all the pipework fell off when a bag touched it and it showed all the very old pipework in the room.

To summarize, I have paid $50.00 for the "privilege" of having my car ticketed, being left waiting in your lobby, and subsequently spending my own valuable business hours chasing your team and gathering documentation to fix a mistake your staff caused.
I strongly suggest a review of your front-of-house policies and staff training regarding fee disclosures. This experience has severely damaged my view of the Pullman brand and will heavily dictate my future accommodation choices and reviews.
I expect a formal confirmation once the ticket has been completely cancelled, and I look forward to hearing how management intends to rectify the broader service failures of our stay.

Dear Pullman Auckland City Hotel Management Team,
I am writing to formally complain about the unsatisfactory service and room conditions during my recent stay at Pullman Auckland City Hotel. As a regular guest of the Pullman brand, I am extremely disappointed with the experience I received at your city branch, which is vastly inconsistent with the standard of Pullman Auckland Airport Hotel.
Firstly, I encountered serious issues with my room key cards immediately after check-in. I was issued new key cards three separate times, yet all three sets failed to unlock my room door. I had to repeatedly walk down to the front desk to resolve the problem, which was highly inconvenient and frustrating. I was only able to finally enter my room after a staff member came upstairs with me to check and fix the issue in person. This unnecessary trouble completely affected my rest and travel arrangement after a long flight.
Secondly, the sound insulation of the room is surprisingly poor. I can clearly hear noise from the corridor and adjacent rooms throughout my stay. The overall quietness and comfort level are far below the standard I expected from a Pullman hotel. Compared with the excellent room quality, quiet environment and professional service of Pullman Auckland Airport Hotel, the experience at your city hotel is completely disproportionate and disappointing.
As a loyal customer of Accor and Pullman, I sincerely hope the management can investigate these service and facility issues, improve your daily maintenance and customer service quality, and provide a proper response and reasonable compensation for my unpleasant stay.

Rooms we were put in very tired and not worth the money we pay.
Carpet dirty with a melted area in doorway to bedroom. Shower leaked onto tiles causing a tripping hazard. Friends room had a rubber mat on shower floor covering broken tiles and a ceiling light not working. Rooms have been in need of refurbishing for some time but looking decidedly worse this visit.
Executive lounge -The Hot food over the 4 nights we were there was all pre-made processed food - not a comparison to Sofitel Wellington who have all handmade canopies showing time care and attention to making their guests stay enjoyable.
Unfortunately it is starting to feel like the Hotel is trying to be 5 star on a shoestring budget. Even your beautiful flower arrangements in foyer are now few and far between.
Evening meal service on 2 or the 3 nights we dined was very slow.
Breakfast team were great.
I am sorry to have to write this review (I have not made it a public review) however it's our honest opinion after having been loyal customers and staying for many years.

Loved the bed and carpet of the room. Other than that though tech and room felt quite old, shower/bath quite small. AC worked well and i loved it's placement, plus the easy to use controlled. Tech in room could do with upgrade, e.g. an extra light in main room/behind bed. Restaurant felt very average though e.g. generic menu, super market wine list and 'sad' ambiance. Feel upgrading it to a USP of the hotel would attract more business, but decor, menu, glassware and wine list would need redoing.

Great location as we had our two granddaughters with us so it was only a short stroll to Queen Street.
The beds were very comfortable & the room very adequate to our requirements. As it was school holidays the $1 breakfast deal was amazing! The slide in the pool was another win for our granddaughters.
The only bug bear was the lift down to the car park, it was not working! The lifts were very slow as everyone seemed to check out at the sametime! Also knowing you had a full house a few days prior, extra staff were needed in the kitchen. Sunday's experience for breakfast could have been avoided!
Overall a good weekend!
