I stayed here earlier this month with my husband and one of the highlights of our trip was Alberto!! He works at this hotel and is an absolute delight! We really enjoyed chatting to him throughout! I would visit again purely because he made our experience!!

As always, the staff has our room keys ready for us and greets us with a smile. They know all we want to do is take a shower and get some sleep when we first arrive. Part of a good nap is a cool room. My room’s air conditioning wasn’t working properly. I didn’t realize it until a few hours after I arrived. I turned it off and the room cooled slightly. I informed the checkout desk when leaving that the AC needed to be looked at. And that’s why I received this survey.

Perfect location. Great staff. Very comfortable beds, great pillows. Loved the hotel and Montparnasse. We will return. The hotel is within 40 minutes walk of the city centre, the Saturday and Sunday morning markets are brilliant. So many amazing eating places.

Good but not without drama

Before arriving I contacted the hotel to inform them that it would be an anniversary celebration. Iksan was very helpful and upgraded our room to have a long bed. We were also invited to check in at the VIP area. On arrival at our room we were very happy with the bed decoration and card from Iksan. We were a little disappointed by the view from our room given that we were staying three nights and the hotel seemed to have good availability. The room itself was extremely warm at all times even when we turned on the fans. Someone had blocked the ventilation slots in the windows. We had burgers at the restaurant on level 2. Achraff provided excellent service and great conversation. On the second day I noticed that you could ask for a late check out and would be given one pending availability for €49. The day before our departure I went to the front desk and asked for a late check out. I was told it would be complimentary up to 4pm and “€20 up to 5pm or 5.30pm”. I was told to confirm in the morning. This was strange as I wished to confirm it before my departure day. The next morning I called reception and asked for a late check out, I was told that I would receive a call back but the call back never arrived. I went down to reception only to be told that a late check out was not possible as my “room type” was full that night so only a 1pm check out would be possible. I informed the receptionist that this was not acceptable. My flight was at 10pm and this was my third time contacting Reception about this since the previous day. The receptionist asked if I was going to my room and they would call me. I informed her I had already waited in my room for a call that never came and I wasn’t prepared to do that again. She asked me to take a seat. 10 minutes later a duty manager came to see me and informed me that I could not have a late check out because the hotel was full. I said to the duty manager that this was strange because every single room type at the hotel was available for sale that night on booking.com and the hotel’s own websites I suggested to the manager that they upgrade one of their guests for that evening so that my room type became available again as the receptionist had told me that this was the real issue. At this point we were provided with a 4pm check out and invited to wait in the VIP lounge if we needed longer. To be fair to the duty manager he did apologise for the situation.
