The building maintenance is lousy. Food serve during breakfast is awful. The cutleries and utensils at kitchen are stained and dirty. Even the lift lobby and corridor at every level is badly maintained and it is definitely an eye-sore.

Great location, walking distance to many places including restaurant. The only thing I think must be improve is its breakfast - almost everything were not even warm, nasi lemak was terrible - cold/hard/taste more like normal overnight white rice! Anyway, nearby many great restaurant including hen chicken rice ball, nanya restaurant, malls...will be back for its location.

Service provided was good. Room Service was also responsive and good. Room was cosy but a little small for a suite. Food and snacks provided during Breakfast and Cocktails at the access lounge was cold. Need to take note of hygiene at the breakfast area, was a little put off seeing flies at the cold cuts and salad area...

I received terrible service from your hotel. Firstly, on 30 Nov 2019 your front desk staff, Ms Norzila Saat, misled me by telling me that I booked 2 single beds when I actually booked a king size bed. So Ms Norzila actually assigned me to room 815 and told me there was no sized bed room available. Secondly, after I asked another front one staff, Ms Alia, to honour my booking of a king sized bed, I was surprised that there was suddenly an available king sized bed room at room 1001. Please help me understand how a king sized bedroom could suddenly be available when Ms Norzila told me there was not king sized bed room available for the weekend. Thirdly, on the evening of 1 Dec 2019, I noticed that our King sized bed to switched to 2 single beds that was combined into 1. This is deceitful! Fourthly, I asked your front line staff, Ms Alia, to have the manager call me regarding the bad service, but up to today, no one called me. Clearly, your hotel staff do not treat your guests' feedback seriously. Fifthly, on 1 Dec 2019 when I wanted to check out, your front line staff, Mr Haziq, did not remember to refund me my deposit or issue me an invoice, but told me that I'm done and can go. He only followed up after I reminded him about my deposit and my invoice. What an extremely deplorable and disappointing service from your hotel. Let me remind you that your hotel is in the hospitality sector, but the service is clearly more befitting of a budget hotel. I will never come back to this hotel ever again.

As platinum Accor member, was given the upgrade to Suite but no welcome drink, no welcome complimentary fruit basket and no proper welcoming at the reception counter.

Disappointing Experience From an International Hotel Chain

It took me 1.5 hours to check in with only 2 people ahead of me in line. The person who checked me in was rude as he did not respond to my inquiries as I was speaking to him. I asked to see the Duty Manager and a guy by the name of Khairy came over to me. When I asked Khairy as to why the check in process took so long, he mention that it's because the hotel was at full occupancy. However honestly, regardless if there the hotel is at full occupancy or not, it should take more than an hour to check in two guest! I explained to Khairy that this is unacceptable answer and requested that he write me an official e-mail stating the reason for the reason. He did not e-mail me however but chose to have someone deliver me a letter at 1030pm that night. Thanks to his actions, the person ringing the door bell at such a time woke up my 5 year old daughter was already sleeping. Where is the sense of consideration when you would disturb your guests past 10pm at night! This boggles me honestly coming from a hotel chain such as Novotel. In the letter, Khairy apologize and offered me the option of a late check out the following day at 3PM even when I mentioned during check in that I would be checking out early the following day. Clearly shows that no one was listening to me when I was checking in. The room I was given, room 906 was not cleaned very well and house keeping took more than 30mins to provide me additional bottles of water when I requested for it. Overall it was a disappointing experience coming from a relatively new hotel and from an International Chain. Being a frequent business traveler both domestically and internationally, I more often than not have a preference to stay at international chains for their world renown service and hospitality. In all my years of travel, this is by far the worse I have ever experienced. Having said that, I reckon after this, Novotel would definitely be at the bottom of my list of preferred hotels. And I am certain, that I would not be getting a reply after writing this review judging by the way Novotel treats it's guests.

firstly, when we arrive at 2.30pm, the front desk told us that check in is at 3pm, that's fine. however upon completion of check in - we were told that our room were not ready until another hour! that to me, is unacceptable. although later the front desk manager did helped to get us a room by 3pm, but i think guests should not be subjected to such level of service in the first place. and i can tell that the room that was given to us was in a dilapidated state. the hotel looks aged, the furnishing looks worn out, and there were a dirty, musky smell in the room. the pool was also in a bad state - there was a pool lamp floating while we use it, we felt it was unsafe as it could mean there electric wiring is exposed in the pool! this is extremely unsafe and i have made an official complaint to relevant authorities. overall, it is not a pleasant experience staying at Novotel - and i will think twice before booking at another Accor property hotel.

Hi, my son was bitten by bed bug in room 1526 on 30 Nov 4am and he and his siblings had to move to another room at 4am in the morning. Your colleagues reponded well in moving us to another room and waive off the extra bed which had bed bugs but I believe more can be done to improve our stay. We are also concern that the bed bugs from the room may get into our luggage bags and brought them into my home. I was satisfied with my overall stay at Novotel Melaka. There would be 2 main areas of improvement: 1. Check-in process: When i arrived at the hotel, there were at least 15 people queuing up waiting for their turn to check-in. I believe the staff were trying their best to process our check-in as soon as possible. I believe the real bottom-neck was the check-in system instead. It took a total of between 30 minutes to 40 minutes, before i managed to complete my check-in. 2. Cleanliness of amenities in the room: the overall cleanliness of the room was acceptable. However there was a blood-stain on the bathroom towel. This is something that really needs to be addressed by the hotel. Thanks.

The staff (Zhafir Noorselamat) was doing my check in halfway, just short of passing me the room card, when he suddenly attended to another lady who wanted to check out urgently. I told him that he should have given me the room card first and not had me waited for more than 5 minutes simply because that lady cut queue!

I’ve stayed in this hotel around the same time last year. This time, my experience is very disappointing. I’ve to ring 2 times to request for shower gel and conditioner. I only have a shampoo in my bathroom!

EVERYTHING WAS SO BAD 1. CHECK IN TIME IS 3 PM. ONLY GET 1 ROOM OUT OF 3 ROOMS. ANOTHER 2 ROOMS READY BY 4 PM. THE ROOM THAT WE GET AT FIRST NEAR TO ELEVATOR, SO NOISY ! ROOM 1115 2. 2ND DAY, HOUSEKEEPING TOOK ALL TOWELS AND DID NOT REPLACE WITH NEW FRESH TOWELS. WHEN I CALL AT 5 PM TO ASK FOR NEW TOWELS, THE ONE CALL CENTRE SAID "YOUR TOWEL IS STILL IN MACHINE FOR WASHING, WILL BE READY BY 6 PM" WHAT THE ? ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? I CANNOT TAKE SHOWER UNTIL 6 PM THEN ?? 3. CHECK OUT. I PAID TOURISM TAX VIA CASH UPON CHECK IN. NO RECEIPT WAS BEING GIVEN TO ME. DURING CHECKOUT, RECEPTION STILL ASK ME TO PAY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN THEIR SYSTEM THAT I HAVE PAID. YOU GUYS ARE FUNNY, I WONDER HOW YOU CAN BE IN SERVICE INDUSTRY.

We booked 6 rooms. Reached hotel at midday. Only by 3pm managed to get only 1 room ready. Another 3 rooms were ready closed to 5pm. At 7+pm another batch reached hotel n was given balance 3rooms. However, one of the balance room was duplicate. We had to went down to FO fr rectification. Overall, too many mistakes happened which shouldnt happened to a well established hotel chain like Accor Group. Mind you, i was under Accor employment too, under Sofitel Hotel Senai. With this thing happened, really upset me.
