I arrived relatively late, and there was nobody at reception. I had rang the Mercure central telephone line earlier on my day of arrival to ensure there was no different process if I arrived after 20:00, and was assured on the telephone that reception is open 24/7. The gentleman who was working was sat at the bar area and treated me more like a nuisance than a guest, but in the end all I needed was my room key, which I got. The payment policy is a bit confusing, and the gentleman working touched upon it briefly to 'reassure' me that I wouldn't be charged twice, but as I mentioned above it felt like he wanted me out of the way quickly, so he didn't go into much depth about explaining. He was uncertain what time I should come to collect my breakfast, but that might just be a straightforward training issue. The room was tidy and clean, as you'd hope - the shower was slightly disgusting which was extremely disappointing: the shower head was ...discoloured (the best word I can find for it) and the water came out of it in every direction but straight down. Because of the discolouration I will admit to having spent no more than 5 minutes in that shower, worried as I was about touching that thing longer than I had to. Breakfast was peculiar: I got a box of cornflakes but no milk or bowl or spoon, so I'm not entirely sure what I should have done with that. The coffee was alright - nothing spectacular, but a good way to start the day regardless.

Arrived to discover I needed two pieces of identification which is nowhere on the email confirmation and I hadn’t brought any with me,I had to sit around waiting for it to be emailed to me from home,this should be clearly stated in the email

I couldn’t sleep because the heat was ridiculous, the walls are so thin I could hear the conversations from neighbouring rooms and when I went to pick breakfast up from reception I was astounded - for £10 I was given Juice, coffee, a piece of cheese, muffin & packet cereal with no bowl or spoon. I received a metal teaspoon and a knife, not disposal cutlery other hotels are choosing to use in COVID times. Not enjoyable at all. Avoid if you have a car as parking is impossible & expensive.

Met our requirements and would happily stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure and would use this hotel again. We were met on arrival by the lovely Eliza on reception who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. All staff were pleasant but she stood out. It is hard to write a comprehensive review as we stayed during lockdown so some facilities were closed. There was a very basic menu and the bar food and continental breakfast we had were good and reasonably priced. The hotel is well located and our room was clean, comfortable and roomy. ideal for our purposes.

Excellent support in reservation and arrival ruined by grubby, dirty bedrooms in a pandemic ! Moved rooms twice and only 3rd one passably clean and tidy....which is the least we would expect from a 4 star hotel in London.

This was my second stay at this hotel. I reported the first time that blood marks were visible in the outside of the bathroom sink. I made a complaint regarding this and one of the front desk staff confirmed they would reply to me with how this would be rectified. I equally complained about finding hair in the bathroom from a previous guest along with finger print marks on light switches, window and even the tv remote. In the height of a global pandemic and now in tier 4, I was expecting this hotel as they are legally obliged to, to go above and beyond in ensuring cleanliness and safety for its guests.

Clean and good size single room with double bed. The only thing missing was breakfast, which was said to be included on bookings.com website. Other than that it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. Staff were friendly and helpful even though they appeared to be short on staff. Would stay again.

Extremely disappointed with this 4star hotel Privilege room had none of the luxuries stated on website ... no coffee machine, robe or slippers No full English breakfast just a poor effort of a continental and had to pay extra to have it delivered to room!
