Not a nice place to stay

If you're planning a business trip or perhaps any trip this isnt the place for you. The decor is tired and dated, the room had damaged furniture with chipboard showing through broken laminate. The complementary ear plugs were a nice if unusual feature and were unfortunately necessary due to noise from surrounding establishments and night clubs. The smoke alarm flashing bright white intermittently through the night was a reassuring feature as the age of the building makes a good smoke fit for the doors difficult to achieve. It did not however help for a restful night. The TV was difficult to use and there are no instructions in the room The management attitude is largely dismissive both on the night and subsequently. Definitely a place to avoid I am glad it wasnt my money that paid for it.

We are centrally located within the most vibrant location of the city, making us the perfect choice for any guest who wishes to be right 'in the thick of it'. I do apologise should you have believed our location was quieter than it was. I am sorry should you have personally found the fire detectors within the room to have caused disturbance to you. These have been checked since you reported them. No issue has been found, the light you mention is a standard light found upon most detectors. I once again apologise should it have disturbed you. I thank you for your feedback about the room. We will bare this feedback in mind when putting together the final plans for our up and coming refurbishment. Your feedback is very well received and we will use it in every way possible when making improvements to our product and service standards. Constant noise from the air ducking outside of room window this problem is so bad they even leave earplugs in room for you this should be made clear as a advisory also lots of work men outside on scaffold from early hours after a terrible night trying to sleep

Due to our city centre location and being in the most vibrant area of the city, ear plugs are provided in all bedrooms should guests wish to use them. I further apologise for any disturbance caused by workmen who were undertaking some work for us. I thank you for bringing this to our attention. Awesome location with smiling faces at the reception desk We were able to get excellent breakfast and dinner at a stone’s throw be it the ugly bread bakery or Mowgli or kayal or Bombay chat company Could do a pub crawl in less than 100 mts!!!! We were earlier in a smaller city pad room(not for the claustrophobic folks)and then paid to upgrade to a larger room which had loads of space and history. Well worth it Yup, it’s understandably noisy on the weekends, but hey .. be a part of that noise😀. Not for the light sleepers though Very friendly team at the reception desk, made for an enjoyable stay over three nights Shall return

The dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in

Had originally booked and paid for 3 nights here. Good location and easy parking nearby. Reception staff cheery upon arrival. It’s an old hotel so was expecting some quirks. Allocated to room 317 which is a city pad. It’s small but we’ve stayed in small NYC hotels previously. However hands down this is the dirtiest hotel room (I’ve previously stayed in hostels) I’ve ever stayed in. Room was really dusty, smelt musty and in poor repair with plaster peeling and cobwebs hanging from ceiling and light fittings. Footprints on the wall, squashed bugs and stained curtains. Stained sheets and towels and the shower had hair in it. There is no way this is even a 3 star hotel let alone 4. I spoke to the manager before we left and explained how dirty the room was. She apologised and offered to move us, but by that time it was too late. I expect to have a clean room upon arrival. For context I’ve never asked to change rooms or left early anywhere else I’ve stayed. We received no refund (for the other 2 nights) and ended up paying for somewhere else to stay that was cheaper and cleaner.

We went to the room after you left and we couldn't find any stains on the linen or the cobwebs. I booked a privilege room as a nice treat for my partner and I. We only stayed one night due to a hospital appointment the next morning. I was disappointed with the room, it wasn't what I was expecting. There were no dressing gown or slippers as advertised. The photos are misleading showing large bathroom/bath or shower. Our shower was a small cubicle one. The bed was lovely, large and comfy & I liked the free chilled soft drinks we got. The room was nice but I can't really say it was "privilege" or worth the money I paid for it unfortunately.

Certainly your room should have come with bathrobes and slippers which can be found within the wardrobe. Should these not have been found within the wardrobe I do sincerely apologise. A call to our reception team would have allowed us to inform you where they could be found or indeed apologise for them not having been there and swiftly having these items brought to you. Should they have been missing I do apologise. I will certainly share this feedback with our housekeeping team. As a hotel built in 1822 all of our rooms which include the bathrooms vary in shape and size. For this reason the bathrooms can vary with some also having a bath as well as a shower. To confirm, all bedrooms ( regardless of room grade ) come with a shower, some also come with a bath. If there is a preference for a bath our team will gladly look at allocations on arrival to see if we have one available. I am delighted you were comfortable during your time with us and thank you for your feedback which is well received.
