The staff were all lovely. The rest was awful. The room was filthy. There were scruffy people smoking at the entrance and staring at people as they walked in. More scruffy people left the hotel to smoke at the entrance during the stay. There were noisy people in the corridor until after 1am. The bed felt like it had bed mites or lice, my head itched the next morning. The decor was tacky. Definitely felt more like a dodgy dive than an Accor hotel.

The hotel is located with superb convenience for everything happening in Nottingham, whether that is the Market Square, Victoria Shopping Centre, sporting quarter or anything else. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and the facilities were excellent.

don’t stay if not on a hen or stag weekend!

Initially booked because of location to shops etc. Turns out that was the only thing it had going for it. we paid £200+ for one night in a standard kind room. Nothing like the modern quirky hotel portrayed on the web site. The room was small and tired looking, uneven floors which some might call character no good if you’re unsure on you feet. lift didn’t stop at the floor the restaurant was on so had to use stairs. The bar hotel wasn’t open as advertised and no notice or anyone to explain why. As stated previously the room was small, no mirror in the main room. Some lights not working, Tv channels most not available and those that you could get you had to search for. Bathroom the extract van didn’t work, you had to side step in and out of the shower cubicle whilst stepping up or down. the shower cubicle didn’t drain so had to cut short shower for fear of flooding the bathroom. Very very noisey environment which should have guessed when we found the ear plugs on the bedside cabinets! it’s above another bar that could be heard quite clearly in the room we were in (309). Add to that the group coming back at in the early hours shouting to each other and the lady that decided to start banging the walls and shouting it was an awful stay. We went early to have breakfast as we were up anyway and to be fair that was ok. Bit strange you had to keep asking if you wanted coffee as no help yourself coffee / drink facility. If had been staying more than one night we would have checked out after the first night. Really really disappointed with Mercure and the hotel. We work hard for our money and we’re not expecting 5 star facilities but was definitely not worth the £200+ we paid. Won’t stop at a Mercure again one of the worst hotels i have stayed in regardless of how much I paid. Beware the website is not representative of the facilities we experienced

Great location to the office and venue for our Xmas dinner

Great little hotel located in the center close to the office, bars and restaurants. Was disappointed that the room needed a little TLC. Three lights weren't working - Bathroom mirror, bedside table and desk lamp. The curtain has a nasty stain on it too. But comfortable bed, quiet room and great breakfast.
