Compact, convenient, cheap.

Tom W TripAdvisor review

Very compact but suitably comfortable little room, right in the cultural richness of Whitechapel - extremely convenient for tube/train/bus, so many restaurants, and right on the edge of the City of London with all the attractions there. The room's not the smallest I've ever stayed in, but at 4 nights I'm glad I was (unusually) travelling solo - it would have been cramped with a partner. The compact shower was acceptable, although requiring a little finesse to get the right temperature. Breakfast was supplemental to the room rate, but was a well presented & stocked cold buffet, and on-demand pancake dispensing machine - both enjoyed each morning with a satisfactorily long service window. The hotel itself is directly on Whitechapel Road, almost adjacent to a large hospital & trauma centre; if one is not accustomed to the noises of a major city this may make sleep difficult, but this is also to be expected for a hotel this conveniently located.

Firstly I'd just like to say that the staff are fantastic. They were all extremely polite, friendly and helpful. I cannot fault them at all, they were brilliant and should be praised. It was the facilities that were a let down. Rubber mats patching up the carpet. Beds are rock hard and uncomfortable, so much so that discomfort woke us both overnight. Room was very dark even with blind fully open. Hot water took 5 minutes of constantly running to come through. Toilet was dripping constantly. There was some sort of leak leaving a constant wet patch under the sink. I know it's a "no frills" hotel but I'd expect it to still be maintained somewhat well. The staff were a positive aspect, as was the very reasonable baggage storage charge. I also liked the little book library, a nice touch.

Dear KATIE W., Thank you for providing us with your valuable feedback. We’re disappointed to hear that a couple of thoughts weren’t exactly to your liking. I truly hope you give us another chance soon, so we can share an even more positive experience. Sincerely, Alin Corici - Front Office Manager.
