24letters Couples - TripAdvisor review

This was one of three M Gallery Hotels we stayed at while in Vietnam and only one to score a perfect five. From the moment we arrived late in the evening from our long flight we were made to feel welcome. The room was quirky with the highest, but most comfortable bed of our stay. We loved the timber floors, dark moody colour scheme and a bit of bling in the mosaic tiles in the bathroom. We frequented the downstairs bar for our evening nightcaps, amusing ourselves watching the punters try and find the nearby speak-easy or watching the Insta girls posing outside the Hotel. The location in the French Quarter was a perfect base for exploring the Old Quarter, lakes district or getting lost in translation ordering a chicken Banh Mi - chicken/egg - close, but very tasty all the same.

I checked in on 13Apr24 for a 2 nights stay. I had pre-paid the hotel bookings since Feb2024. I was asked to produce the actual credit card I used for the booking for the incidental deposit for the stay.However, as I have brought a different credit card for the deposit, I was asked to cancel the booking amount and redo the booking which will cost me a exchange rate difference and an additional 3% service charge from the card company which is preposterous. The front office manager have no empowerment to deal with this case and cannot even offer a solution for me when I produced proof of my identity of my name as in the card i used for the pre-paid payment. I am very very disppointed at Accor Hotels for having such stupid policy which undermines the trust of their customers for MGallery Hotel. I will dewfinitely Not Stay at the hotel again on my future trip to Hanoi. I do not experience this problem in the other countries I have booked pre-paid for other Accor Hotels even in Hanoi. I hope the country manager will look into this serious problem or lose the trust of their customers.
