The hotel had no air conditioning or heating, which wasn't mentioned during booking or check-in. Our room overlooked the train tracks, with trains passing by, and we had to sleep with the window open. The restaurant food was terrible, although the service was friendly. On Monday morning, the hotel was undergoing renovations, and the noise was unbearable. We didn't even receive an apology. It was a joy to leave that hotel, never to return.

I booked room for 2 people and was assigned room with one bed and a sofa/trundle bed. I asked for 2 beds I was told they did not have any available . I asked if there was exercise room and staff said yes. They did not tell me it was closed for renovation. I asked about air conditioning and was told it is now off I asked if pool was heated and was told no This hotel said I got this room because my tour company Road Scholar booked it. I would not recommend this hotel

Dear client We are sorry to hear that you were dispaointed about your stay in our hotel. About the type of room, you have requested a "double room". At no point you have mentionned two seperate beds. A double room is a room for two people. So we booked what you asked. Because we were fully booked at the time of your stay, it was not possible to make the change such last minute when arrived, otherwise, we would change it. We did offer to make a sofa bed for you, so you would be able to sleep in seperate beds, which you refused so our team actually did offer some solution on their side. As for the receptionist calling your guide, he instead contacted our collegues that are in contact with road scholar directly, and the information that they had is that you wanted a double room, and no specifications about twin beds. Our heating and cooling system is a central that is cold for 6 months of the year and heat for the rest. It is at that time of the year that we go from cold to warm as we are getting in the season where cold weather can happen very quickly and it takes about 2 weeks for the change to be done. The pool is outside and not heated at any time of the year, and the Spa and gym are closed at the moment as renovation have started. We are really sorry that we were not able to offer those services to you during your stay, it will be accessible next year with a lot more to be able to use in those areas. We are sorry that you are disapointed about your stay. We hope we will be able to see you in the futur if you come back to Avignon, so we can provide a more pleasant experience and gain your trust again. Novotel team
