This hotel should not be operating until the water damage and mold have been abated and completely repaired. Upon walking into the lobby, you are overwhelmed by mold smell to the point of eyes watering, chest tightening, and headaches. We advised the counter staff they should not be working under these conditions. Then we were placed directly above this water damage in room 201 which had been heavily sprayed with air freshener to cover up the smell. During our 3 day stay, the staff removed the plastic in the lobby, and we thought they were starting to work on it, but no, they only replaced it with new plastic. The staff had said it had been like that for 3-4 weeks from a storm. When we looked that up, the storm was more than 5 weeks prior. The Novatel around the corner had some damage as well, however they had properly mitigated and abated and were in the process of putting in new drywall. Do not stay here!

From the moment we arrived we found out the restaurant was closed and had to park on the street, that was the start of a very dissatisfying stay…..

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected pipe burst in the restaurant, the area was flooded, and we had to temporarily close it for repairs. We understand how this disrupted your plans, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused. To ensure you still had access to breakfast, we organized an alternative at our sister property, Novotel, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. Obliging a. helpful staff esp. with wheelchair husband, altho' I had to get him out of wheelchair a. transfer to a chair to fold the wheelchair to get it through the doorway, then reposition him back in the wheelchair - a. the small lip on the 2nd floor elevator entrance was difficult to get the wheelchair over into the lift. Ramps a. lifts are provided for accessibility, which is good - a. our room was spacious. Room service food was most enjoyable a. portions were very generous. If you need USB charging take your own power board, pc or 3-pin/usb adapter - in our room wall sockets were for 3-pin plugs. The air con dripped onto the floor. The edges of the bed were soft so you felt like you were sliding off when sitting on it, but the bed was comfortable to sleep in a. the bedding was cool a. comfortable. Location is very handy - across the road from Cairns Aquarium a. Ramsay Day Surgery. We could cross the roads with our push wheelchair thanks to pedestrian lights a. good pavements with ramps. Cairns Central is close by. For a central city location, during our stay (Monday a. Tuesday nights) the area was quiet at night. Taken on balance, our stay was very satisfactory. We enjoyed the convenient location, definitely the food, a. our thanks go to the extremely helpful staff who were always friendly a. willing to assist.

Wi fi wasn't that good, very hot in lift.
