I like this quirky Novotel that is so convenient to Orly. The hotel is almost deliberately casual but front of house staff are warm in welcome and on top of their brief. This has been true of each of many stays. It’s also welcoming for our Labrador who is so obviously welcome. I was given a lovely boxed gift of the in-house rituals toiletries. It was a lovely gesture. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. A mini fridge and kettle is provided and the room service menu is quite good. My only gripe is with the restaurant where the food is of a range and variety to suit most people, and is tasty and well presented. Each time I have used the restaurant, there is a sense of pressure on the staff who are all friendly and welcoming but the wait for initial attention, on this occasion was way too slow and irritated the few waiting ahead and behind me. I know it was not deliberate but serving staff walked past the queue more than once and didn’t acknowledge guests queueing. Once seated, everything flowed well. I state this only because we had planned to eat elsewhere because of memories of excessive waiting for an order to be taken on two previous stays and which necessitated, on one occasion, leaving because the wait was so long, hunger was cancelled by the need to sleep. On that occasion when we complained as we left, the server offered to cancel our bill but we informed him there was no bill since no service had occurred . I’m glad to say that those problems didn’t occur this time and the food we chose was served promptly and while the first course would have benefitted from a longer time out of the fridge, the second course for us both was excellent. An omelette when done in a French kitchen is always a special treat and well done to the chef for honouring the tradition. I always sleep well in the hotel and sound proofing is certainly evident. I will always return to this Novotel. It is not cheap but it is reliable and better than most hotel airports I have stayed at for layovers. If the organisational problems for the dining room were sorted, I think it would be quite perfect.

We stayed one night in Paris for our international flight the next day. It was close to the airport and the bed was comfortable. The room is a bit too dark. My husband left the room for a short time and he had the key and the lights went out. Two keys are a must. Overall very pleased.

Nice room, comfortable bed, good shower. Check in was efficiend, staff helpful. Food at bar was sub par. Did not try restaurant. Hotel arranged us a taxi to flight in another terminal since I had a broken foot and couldn't manage the stairs to the walway or shuttle. That taxi did not set a meter and charged 25 euro for a 2 minute drive. I tried to argue that was not correct and he said that was minimum for an airport drop off. I still don't believe it.

The main problem was that my room was way too hot. I could not get them to fix the thermostat, but I did get them to open a window, which meant I heard the noise from the planes, but sleep was at least possible. The restaurant was overpriced for the quality of the food. There was an overpass from the hotel to the terminal, which was convenient, but there was no elevator, so I had to drag my bags uphill and downhill, which was hard. I am 82 years old and traveling alone.
