A large rabbit warren of a hotel which is used a lot for conferences, weddings and functions. Convenient for us to visit friends and was quiet. Checked into reception with our cases and as our room was up some stairs we asked for some help but no one was available, eventually a kind guest helped us. We experienced several trips to reception as you couldn't reach them by phone, either for another key as the one we had stopped working, glasses, tea bags all little things. One night all our lights in our room went off which obviously couldn't be fixed until the next day. I did relate to a staff member this is like Faulty Towers and the person agreed. Luckily our room was large with a nice new bathroom and separate toilet. The person on reception on the day we arrived quoted a price for breakfast we had it on our last day. Unfortunately my husband paid the bill without checking and they had charged a difference price for the breakfast and when I queried it they said this was the correct price. They would not credit the difference, poor public relations in my opinion.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was large and very clean. The bed was very comfortable but several things were, although minor, very disappointing. The handrail in the bath was becoming loose and I was unable to have a bath because the plunger was detached and so the water just ran away. The reading lights on both sides of the bed did not work. In the bar I asked for a Bloody Mary. They didn't know how to make it so had to look it up. It was disgusting and I did not drink it. Breakfast was very varied and good value and again, the staff were great.

Had a lovely time. Stayed in one of the suites. Staff were attentive, friendly and accommodating. Ellie, Charli and Helen made our visit very special. Thank you so much. We had stayed at this hotel previously a few years ago. Brought back some lovely family memories.

Not great experience. I was allocated rm 15 which was already occupied. No additional rooms available. You receptionist was EXCELLENT in that she re-booked me elsewhere but it meant I had to get back in the car, drive etc.
