It can't be denied that the hotel is in need of significant refurbishment but in these difficult times we had an enjoyable short stay touring the area.

Under current Covid restrictions, we felt very safe in the hotel as everything was organised to eliminate any possibility of contracting the virus. Yet service was still good.

All the staff were accommodating and welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. Checkin was easy and reassured me as a guest that I was safe and check out was speedy & efficient. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I couldn’t have asked for anything else. A 5* stay

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Very comfortable bed. Decor a bit tired and faded. Probably approaching a refurb in the near future. As we were only there 2 nights, we did not miss the reduced housekeeping service during Covid. Indeed, all the staff were excellent. The breakfast was a huge disappointment, while we understood the Covid-safety measures meant pre-ordering and collecting our breakfast, the lack of choice and the polystyrene containers and plastic cutlery were reminiscent of greasy spoon cafes and environmentally wasteful. We could not understand how or why proper plates or cutlery could not be used - given everything is cleaned in between use anyway.

I'm a gold card member and asked for the customary upgrade, Because of the pandemic and because there was a wedding my wife and I were not upgraded. Breakfast was okay and the bacon and sausages were the best ever. But apparently they only serve English breakfast at weekends NOT weekdays. Shame.

I know we are in trying times with covid but we couldn't get an evening meal and breakfast was a take out affair in a polystyrene container with plastic cutlery , pubs and restaurants manage to serve food on china with metal knives and forks, why not Letchworth Hall Hotel ? Having checked in and deposited bags in our room we went to the bar, then waited 20 minutes for the lady on reception to finish there before she could come to the bar to serve ( she was excellent but hotel clearly needed more staff on duty ). Our room was lovely and the bed super comfortable, only problem was the extra pillow in the wardrobe had a sweat stain on it. We stayed here as we were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and this is the hotel we got married at back then, and have stayed here again since then and we much preferred our previous visits.

The hotel is pleasant enough but the breakfast was a bit of a joke. This was our 8th stay in an Accor hotel this summer and by far our worst breakfast. We had to pre order the night before from a very basic menu and when it arrived it was in a polystyrene container with cheap plastic knives and forks which split as soon as you used them. The breakfast had obviously bern sitting around for some time as well as it was over cooked. The bar wasn't much better either. I was pleased to see a nice IPA on tap which is unusual as hotels generally think that people only drink bland lager. Imagine my surprise then, when I was told that none of the pumps were on and they only had bottles of bland lager. The room itself was quite nice and comfortable although Mercure could follow the lead of it's junior sister IBIS and provide some decent pillows. I understand we are living in difficult times but the other 7 Accor hotels we stayed in managed to have a fully stocked bar and a sensible system allowing you to choose what you wanted from the breakfast buffet.

There was mould in the bathroom, over the ceilings and walls. When I told the receptionist she said she knew about it and said " I'd told them to put that room out of order". They couldn't find me another room. There was lots of gunk in the sink, i have photos of this and the mould. The room wasn't nice at all really. That being said..... I was staying with my dog, which was ill. On the second night she died. In my arms at about 10.30 pm. It was a shock. The receptionist on duty spoke to my ister who drove down to help me, they changed the duvet and were nice, they also cancelled my next night without me having to remind them, I was worried there would be a problem as when I was checking.out the couple in frpnt of me were complaining they had been trying to cancel a nights stay since the beginning of August and were very angry. But I got a email literally a few days later confirming cancellation and the money in the bank shortly after- so I am thankful for no added stress. The hotel is dated and my room wasnt nice, I was going to complain, as you should see the photos! But I am too busy grieving for my dog. The three receptionsist on duty, whom I wrote down their names but have lost the paper were really really nice and if not for them I probably woul give a much worse feedback for the hotel. The rooms and place needs a good refresh as the grounds are lovely but the actual hotel is going downhill.

First stay since lockdown

This was our first stay anywhere since the lockdown. We stayed for one night. The hotel's covid precautions were good and well thought out. Our stay got off to a good start with an upgrade to an enormous room with plenty of space. There was no restaurant that night in the hotel but the local village, which is a ten minute stroll away, has two good pub/restaurants who do Sunday lunch. My only complaint is that the hotel is still charging full price for breakfast which in my case was a lukewarm bacon roll. I would go back, hopefully in more normal times.

Room was ok, staff were great, Covid 19 rules (mask wearing DID NOT occur with guests & wasn’t enforced), breakfast was extremely poor & extremely expensive...1 yoghurt, a Spurs he’d banana, a breakfast bar & a sachet of orange juice...no value for money

The hotel was very clean and staff were sensitive to Covid measures. Room was spacious. Light bulbs needed replace to small lights but otherwise very comfortable. Nice breakfast and accomodated veggies

Overall average at best, however the staff as always are this hotels best asset, so willing to help however the recently opened bar needs to have someone in attendance at all times. The restaurant is now needed as occupancy is around d 75%

The hotel is located in a very quiet park, however, it is in need of refurbishment. The rooms were of a low standard, and there was a big hole in the hallway ceiling. The food was very, very average. The staff were absolutely wonderful, very helpful and incredibly welcoming
