What a shame, this once premier hotel in Letchworth is very tired to the point of shabby and in dire need of redecoration. Although the room was clean and the bed/bedding good, mould in the bathroom and a large chip of enamel out of the bath, along with light fittings not working are not what you expect. The limited number of staff are trying their best, but the food is very poor 'pub grub' with restaurant prices. Due to the main restaurant not being open, when the bar tables weren't available, it meant eating off low coffee tables and laps, just not good enough. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was enjoyable and the staff helpful. However, in all honesty I will not be staying here again or recommending this hotel.

Generally the hotel interior and exterior is very tired and not well maintained, rotten window sills, ledges, marked and damaged ledges and paintwork. The room was just ok but carpet was worn, bathroom WC seat near hanging off, face mirror was tightened by me as I thought the mirror would fall off. The evening menu is not imaginative and is like pub food, the quality of the salad I ate was very poor, brown leaves, No anchovies and quite hard chicken. The service was very slow in most area but staff were polite and helpful, overall it did not leave a lasting impression on me.

Hotel had good facilities. Room was big and clean. I had booked a double, so was surprised to find two twin beds. The room was incredibly hot and despite having all of the windows open and the temperature right down to 15, we both had an uncomfortable sleep. The breakfast was lovely though and the staff were very friendly.

Really nice location, close to the town. However hotel run down and staff at breakfast did not seem happy to happy to help. When asked for more apple and orange juice to put out staff rolled eyes and serves was slow. Overall this hotel needs some serious TLC.

We had the Lytton Suite, room 1. It was lovely, like having our own flat! Double bed room, living room, 2 bathrooms and another room with 2 single beds. Had everything we needed other than Wifi, which was the only let down. Breakfast was lovely, cooked and continental - staff were all friendly and helpful. Bit of a shame that the pool is so small at the health centre, we couldn’t have a relaxing swim as was only lane swimming, although not the hotels fault they should probably just give the guests a heads up! Overall really nice stay and would come again. Room and beds were definitely value for money!

Surprised by the size overall of the extension and therefore distance from restaurant and bar. Lifts help to access car park but car park itself noisy due to events. Breakfast and bar snacks good and staff generally helpful. Surprised on arrival by run down state at the outside of the restaurant...overdue a refurb?

The Mercure is a good value, simple hotel, set within lovely grounds in peaceful countryside. The “old” parts of the hotel are beautiful (although a little run down). Staff and guests were friendly, breakfast was plentiful and access to the health club was a bonus.

We all had a very lovely stay at letchworth hall hotel the night before our wedding and the night of my wedding. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. We had the bridal suite which was amazing! Perfect for all 5 bridesmaids to get ready in in the morning and they brought out breakfast up on a tray which was so lovely. We also had afternoon tea the day before which was delicious. Would totally recommend

my stay was not a good experience. staff on duty were very helpful and hard working ,there was a large party in the hotel from America who were loud , children uncontrolled, and no idea or didn't care that there were other guest wanting to dine or drink in the bar as they spread themselves around the tables to make this impossible. my room Was not cleaned properly during my stay and I had to request additional coffee from the receptionist. I will not be staying here in the near future but will find another hotel in the area for work visits for the rest of 2022.
