The positives are good location and great breakfast. Staff also very nice. Unfortunately I was given a room in the annex and as a single woman felt uncomfortable crossing a dark car park at night where there were several males hanging around. There was alot of street noise and no bath towel provided, just hand towels which isn't ideal.

I spent one night at Ibis Styles Calais Centre on a business trip to France 🇫🇷. The hotel location is excellent, in one of the city's busiest streets with several bars and restaurants at walking distance. Front desk staff was professional and efficient. My room was on the first floor with street view and therefore tended to be noisy. It was quite large but awkwardly designed with two beds facing each other on the opposite side of the room. The decoration was pretty basic. However, the furniture's flashy colours were meant to give it a more welcoming touch. The desk was so small that working on it would almost be impossible. The bathroom was quite tiny, and the leaking tub's glass window could not prevent water from splashing everywhere. This should definitely be fixed. Breakfast was good, but the room looked more like a canteen than a cosy place to start the day. The orange squeezing machine was a very nice feature, and the buffet offered a broad selection of bakeries, cold cuts, and breads. Despite its inherent limitations, Ibis Styles Calais is a good place to spend a night in Calais.

Unfortunately the young assistance in the kitchen/Breakfast room was very impolite and short tempered when I asked her for something on 2 occasions. Never experienced that at Ibis styles before. We have stayed there on many occasions with the whole family.

Checkin was appalling, no greeting, stood in front of a man who was on the telephone while the female team member ignored us she stood and watched the man until he came off the call. Then eventually checked us in. Gave very poor instruction on where to park and unclear directing to our room which was across the car park. Room was very basic and dated and bathroom had black mould around the shower. Not value for money.

Friendly receptionist gave us perfect direction to very secure car park at back of hotel. Plenty of good restaurants just 20 yds from hotel. Room was spotless. Had a great breakfast in the morning before leaving. Again all staff very friendly.
