We had a very comfortable stay. Staff was very helpful and efficient under difficult covid circumstances. Only one small problem at dinner ,was slow cooked pork belly, which was so tough it was hard to cut.

experience was good except key cards kept not working, even when I got a brand new card straight from reception and didn't have it near any other items.

I arrived early (11am) and completed the pre-check in requirements. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. I returned around (930pm), picked up the room cards and went to my room. The process is easy and no issues occurred. The room was generally clean. Along the wall, behind the bed and side table had a build up of dust but overall the room was neat and tidy. The stay as with every other time was comfortable and I had no issues. The staff are professional and always accommodating.

Our first short trip after lockdown. Understandably, not everything that would have been part of the experience was available (eg buffet breakfast), but everything was clean and comfortable giving a pleasant stay.

Easy professional check in and check, clean room, but a few things let you down. I had to kill a family of spiders in the external sliding door, water pools outside the shower recess due to poor tiling / bedding of the wet area, I asked a cleaner for fresh / clean coffee and wine glasses and she oblidged by taking them outside to her cart spraying disinfectant and wiping them clean with a towel, breakfast was organised by two young people who did not know what they were doing, very unorganised and unprofessional ( the breakfast itself was great).

The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was great. We really enjoyed the ability of being able to walk to most places we visited so the location is perfect for that. We got a fantastic spa bath which was a treat!

Booked Mercure Hotel to trial it for our wedding guests next year. Upon entering the room we noticed that bugs had infested the room. We asked night service for bug spray and they said that we had to wait until the morning and that this was ‘wildlife’. This infuriated my partner and I as we had to sleep in the room in the state that it was therefore the following morning we raised this to front office to which the front office lady said that this was a common issue across the hunter and that they were unable to relocate us to another room due to availability. My partner and I were shocked and devastated that the matter was not addressed appropriately so we then showed management the photos of the infestation of bugs. After seeing the photos management had quickly asked housekeeping to fumigate the room, refunded us the first night stay and relocate us to another hotel. They also provided a cheese platter and bottle of wine. We appreciate that management had addressed the issue and removed us from the situation and we hope that none else will have the same experience.

Have been many times. Stayed in room 312, this time, not that impressed. Room needs maintenance, curtain was ripped, discovered by 2nd night fridge had been turned off, so nothing was cold, and fridge leaked on the floor. A table is needed on the balcony as there is nothing to stand a glass of wine or coffee on. Breakfast needs to be addressed, if you have to do table service, it needs to be better organised, and you need to offer a "Continental Breakfast", not just a cooked one. I would not bother with breakfast again

Upon arriving at my room, outside the rooms were several trays with food scraps and dirty plates that remained in the same spot for 2 days atop of the stairwell, gathering extra rubbish and I would have to say a impressive ant rave. Really takes away from the fantastic first impression give from the girls in reception.

We spent two nights at Hunter Valley Mercure and were very happy with the whole experience. The Front Office staff were friendly, polite and helpful and this set the scene for our stay. The breakfasts and dinners were lovely and the staff polite and helpful. Our room was great, the swimming pool relaxing and of course with the gardens and several cellar doors close by we had everything we needed.
