Very nice clean hotel. Powerful showers. Breakfast excellent. Dining room lacks atmosphere, more like a works canteen. Good value for money unless you stay on weekend when prices shot up from £44 a night to £145!!! Very disappointed in this as we had been staying for 3 nights and wanted another 2 but at these prices we moved on.

Always stay on trip to and from Cornwall. It is nicely mid distant from York. Very satisfactory. Disappointed, however, at IBIS taking advantage of the pandemic to significantly increase rates for rooms. And in the light of that, a further disappointment in the very limited menu at dinner'.

Very pleasant staff, nice bar and outdoor seating area. Rooms have many new fittings. Listed bottle water and wasn’t any. The safe wasn’t working and neither was the lift some of the time. Nice to have windows that open, although my room was quite noisy as it was above an intermittent humming noise, like a pump or fan. Good car parking

A good place in a heat wave

I have stayed here a few times recently with mixed experiences. This time was in the middle of a heat wave and the cooling system was effective and very welcome. The shower temperature was variable - some mornings hot and others not. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and the car parking free. There were always spaces available. As I was staying with a friend we had a twin room. The mattresses are very shallow and had a tendency to migrate but were comfortable.

The receptionist on duty on Saturday night was brilliant - really warm hospitable welcome - please pass on my thanks. Room was brilliant value for money and cant fault my stay at all. The booking was last minute but that didnt cause any problems

Disappointing Breakfast

Breakfast is supplied as a takeaway in a paper carrier bag, along with a cup to take a drink (tea or coffee). No hot food. I questioned this, and was told “Covid”. I pointed out that Premier inn and Travelodge both offer hot, freshly cooked breakfast. That said, a good one-way system in place around entrance and reception areas. Pity some guests ignored it.

Lack of thought

Despite many, many posters, and the law, requiring the use of masks, it seems that the cleaning and maintenance staff see this as optional. Whilst claiming higher standards of sanitation, no offer was made to empty a bin, change sheets or have new towels across a week's stay. On non-covid news, the hap under doors and around windows enables external and internal noise to travel easily. Gusts of wind travel easily too, for example. Coke for a cheap bed, not to relax or feel secure.

Disappointing

Bad customer service on arrival. No information about breakfast changes, or if food served in the evening. Room very basic. I understand things changed due to covid 19, but we could have had a bins emptied, had a proper mug, not paper and not had towels left daily outside the door even though they were asking you to dave on the washing. Finally the room was noisy due to traffic all day and all night.

Great location one you learn the road system

The hotel itself is grat and the room comfortable with everything you need. The staff however are a mixed bag. Arrival we were met by indifference, certainly not the normal Accor Hotel welcome. The cleaners were cheerful as was the young guys, but the women were grim apart from one.

sound overnight stay

simple online booking and checking in system allowed us to arrive without any fuss. surprised to see food seating area empty but expect due to covid. only niggle about room is that we needed to use the shower chair as an extra seat and the water was wasted as it took ages to get warm water thruogh the system otherwise all clean.

Needs a good clean but comfortable

Expectations are limited having stopped in numerous Ibis Hotels and as expected it was comfortable enough for price however cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I stayed in three rooms and all had issues; First room was covered in dirt and dust under the bed and on the top of the tv unit. The second bedroom had similar issues under the bed as well as a towel and bed sheet that were both marked. The desk chair was also very dirty and had a large footprint in the middle of it were someone has stood on it which suggests it wasn't wiped or cleaned between occupants. The third bedroom was again dusty around the tv unit, shelving, and window and the TV control was filthy with a large build up of grime around the volume and channel buttons which was slightly off putting. I am also surprised that there was not a strict mask policy in the communal areas for either staff or guests.

Paid an extra thirty pounds for breakfast which was a bag with some food in it and a choice of juice or coffee but the coffee was extra...complained to the staff, who to their credit, gave us a twelve pound refund which in all honesty wasn't even half, still eighteen pound out of pocket. The bed and pillows were awful, my partner got about 2 hours sleep and I got bad neck ache, the location was good but overall we went be stopping here again.

Clean, simple good value

In Gloucester on business and needed an inexpensive option with WiFi, a comfy bed and clean room. I got exactly that plus a pretty decent breakfast with fresh porridge made to order. Initial reception was a bit brusque but service at breakfast was friendly and helpful. Parking spaces are very tight and people were using up two spaces. I hope they were dealt with.

Comfy, quiet & good brekkies but Planet 21 (green) actions need improving

Arrived at about 4pm, and check in was friendly and smooth. Room was ready. Don't find the airflow system in the IBIS Hotels very good, so requested a desk fan from reception which was provided. Bed was comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was good. Had to request decaff coffee from reception, but no big deal. Only niggle was that housekeeping did not understand the Planet 21 ethos that IBIS are operating, as 3 towels were left hanging up, one was left & 2 removed. Had to get more towels from reception. Enjoyed my stay and will happily stay again.

The room was spotless. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. We were treated very well by all the staff. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble i.e. extra pillow, more tea bags, extra swipe card. I am sure I could have asked for an early morning call if we wanted one.

Room was clean and tidy as is generally the case in Ibis/Accor hotels. What was disappointing is that with a limited menu and due to location I had to have food in the hotel, I ordered food at 7PM and was looking forward to a steak but they had run out of this already. I had the fish and chips which was nice enough, I wasn't expecting miracles but the prices still seemed high. Also, the restaurant was quiet so when it took me 20 mins for my bill to arrive and having to chase it that was frustrating. People could easily walk out without paying if

The Ibis Gloucester is the ideal hotel - excellent value for money, clean, comfortable, quiet, conveniently positioned 10 minutes off the motorway and 10 minutes from the city centre. Add in the easy parking,friendly welcome and excellent service, what more could you ask for?

Two rooms booked over Christmas. Clean, war and comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Only a couple of minor issues, both at meal time. The tea / coffee machine takes too long between cups so a queue builds up when busy. also, with a veggie in the group she found a poor egg selection, only scrambled. A pleasant and welcoming stay, thankyou.

we needed somewhere to stay overnight in the Gloucester vicinity, with our 2 dogs. We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago, and the hotel is still outstanding value for money, clean with friendly staff, and handy for town and country side.
