Room is clean and comfortable to stay in socket outlet should be those international type. As not many of the guest will bring convertor.

Decent 3-star experience

Reaching the front desk or guest services was 1/5 chance from the room but it was impossible to reach anyone in the hotel if you were calling from an external line. Oftentimes, it would take 7-8 times of calling before getting the reception so scheduling a taxi or calling for a later check-in/check-out was almost impossible. Housekeeping was great at keeping everything tidy, but refilling the soap or daily necessities wasn't always done. I stayed there for several weeks and my hand soap was never refilled that I ran out of soap by the end of the stay and was never refilled. See the first paragraph on why it was hard to get it refilled. Customer service was super slow, for example, drinks would take 15-30 mins to get. Food was delicious so that was a plus. Overall, it's a good experience if it was a 3-star hotel, but I wouldn't say it was a 5-star hotel. Music in the lobby and bar was too loud for anyone to have a conversation, service had to be requested several times before anything could be started or done. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if they were looking for a relaxing stay, only if this hotel was close to their Chennai office. The only exception was the restaurant. The restaurant service was quick and accommodating. I would rate that worthy of 5-star hotel.

Hospitable staff, good food. EV charger didn't work

I spent roughly an hour trying to get the EV charger to work. The hotel team put me in touch with the 3rd party vendor who shared multiple steps and tips, none of them helped. Finally the vendor blamed it on hotel's electricity fluctuations even though electricity was stable throughout. The hotel staff were excellent and hospitable. The security staff told me a 15A socket was specifically installed to help me out. After charging for 15 hours, I have managed to get the car charged to 85%. Based on my experience with EV chargers and the feedback I see on Plugshare from other customers, the unit is faulty and the app/setup process is the worst I have seen. Rather than take the words of the third party vendor on face value, I encourage the hotel management to talk to EV owning guests. OEMs like BMW and Hyundai have tied up with high quality CPOs like Zeon, Jio and Chargezone for providing hotels with free EV charging setup which uses much better equipment and has better support. I am happy to pass along references so that future guest experience is better and Novotel OMR becomes a preferred hotel for EV owners. I once again reiterate that the hotel staff went above and beyond for me. Management needs to take a look at the third party vendor. There is not a lot that the staff can do in this case.

Extremely bad service across reception reps and duty manager. Very very disappointing

It’s a slightly disappointing stay at Novotel this time. This is my third week of consecutive stay here due to my work commitments. Although the overall experience was good but feels like there is opportunity to improve in many areas like handling guests at the reception, housekeeping, restaurant etc. 1) This time I was with my family ( wife and 6 year old daughter) , there was some confusion with my booking when we arrived in the morning around 8:30, while I was sorting that there was no proper communication or response from reception team. I finally got the room allocated around 9:30 with paying early checking amount however no breakfast included in that. When I questioned, they were discussing in groups for 2-3 min, they said’ you can have sir’. I wasn’t very comfortable to be frank. I almost took a decision in my mind that no more Novotel. 2) my booking was for an Executive room with additional benefits. When I got inside the room, realised it’s the same room type I stayed last 2 weeks ( single occupancy) and no changes other that and extra spoon. No additional towel, no slipper etc. I had no clue about the additional benefits. Neither I asked or none told. 3) Housekeeping was disappointing. Kept only 2 bottles of water on second day, had to dial to get additional, food was taken to garbage disposal before eating etc. no slippers were given, I had to ask for it. I have no clue how things work here.
