This hotel looks shabby on the outside but slightly better inside. The major issues are: - stains on the bed - shower missing a door - no children’s cots/beds Most of all, be aware this hotel forces you to pay 17 pounds a night for parking! This is a total rip off and not mentioned anywhere. All in all, consider this hotel if your out for a stag do and you don’t mind the state of the place. Avoid with a family, car, holiday or city break.
Dear welsjon1 Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We regularly check our car park charges to ensure we are competitive within the city centre market. We also ensure this is on our own website and those of 3rd party suppliers. Your comments have been shared with the relevant managers so they can where necessary take corrective action. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback. regards Chris

The hotel was nice, the room was great, it was good to get free parking. One thing we did find disconcerting was the 'Security' men sitting at the front and rear doors and the somewhat wasted people sitting outside the steps into the hotel at nights. We stayed four nights as we had a show booked and wanted to explore the interesting maritime history of Britain. On the night of our show we booked a taxi as it was rather a long walk into town to the Hippodrome and I was wearing heels. This is where the hotel staff let us down. The taxi did not turn up and the one member of staff on Reception was too busy to chase it up for us and after half an hour we managed to flag one down ourselves. On returning at midnight we were unable to get room service, despite what it promised on the menu: Sandwiches always available. We had had no time to eat that night due to the taxi not turning up. We were then roused from our beds by a fire alarm at three a.m. going off 3 times over an hour. The duty manager was unable to cope with the situation and inspire confidence in the worried guests. No fire brigade was called and the 'Security' staff found it most amusing. We were told kids had broken in and set the alarms off. Possibly if the security staff stopped looking at their phones they would have prevented this happening! The breakfast was plentiful but I do wonder why a hotel of the calibre of the Mercure group would serve the streakiest of bacon with all its other choices? However, the hotel public rooms and bedrooms were smart and stylish and enjoyed the cultural and social aspects of the city.

Lovely friendly staff and the most comfortable mattress ever, the hotel is ideally placed for a good look around the Quays with lovely drinking and eating opportunities, Bristol Cathedral, long walk up to Clifton suspension bridge and lots of quirky shops. Great choice of breakfast and the room was very clean and a good size.
Dear Peter, Thank you for the great review of our hotel . We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, the team were friendly and breakfast had great choice. We hope to see you again very soon. Kind Regards, Chris Falcus General Manager

The room was lovely, breakfast was tasty, staff were very friendly and professional - HOWEVER, all of that was rendered pointless as our room was sweltering, we barely slept, our infant son barely slept and we couldnt wait to leave in the morning. We travelled with a thermometer so we can make sure the baby is appropriately dressed for the temperature - the room didnt drop below 24 degrees all night, even with the air con on constantly. It was so sticky and unpleasant, impossible to sleep well. The reception staff offered us another room when we brought it to their attention but the other room was the same temp.
Well located, our second visit

Nice upgraded room but spoilt by the ‘wake up call’ from the very noisy housekeepers as their store was directly opposite our room. Some items missing from the menu at dinner. Friendly enough staff. Good buffet breakfast.
Dear Jennie, Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are glad that you enjoyed your room and apologies for the housekeeping waking you. We are pleased the team were friendly and the breakfast good.. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Kind Regards, Chris Falcus General Manager
