The ibis budget is a fairly typical member of the chain. It's convenient & close to the railway station, on a cycle path and a short walk for the town's bus station. The city centre and cathedral are about 15 minutes' walk away. the rooms are functional, yet not uncomfortable. there's a small breakfast area on the ground floor, and a small supermarket underneath the hotel at the entrance to the railway station. Breakfast costs extra, but is probably worthwhile; I had boiled egg (I got the timing better this time), slice of brown bread with cheese, a croissant with apricot jam and two mini pains aux raisins. I washed it down with some weedy grapefruit “juice” and two decent cups of coffee. There's also ham available. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants to eat on the other side of the station about 5 minutes away on foot. As with all Ibis, book early if you want a good rate, we ended up paying more than friends in a much more upmarket hotel nearby, because we left it too late to book!

Aircon not working, reported to reception,, Nothing done to rectify.. Very poor service

Well located, but not happy about the room. Bed too hard and too small, only 1 towel pp, no cups to brush our teeth, room without a view (looking in to a wall), rude personnel in the breakfast area (0,5h before closing time, the buffet was empty and they refused to restock the bread), not very clean buffet...
