Arrived Xmas eve for our 2 night stay here. I booked an executive room and we were in the broughton suite. Very spacious room we liked the fact we had a separate area to sleep in and sit and relax in. The tv cupboard in the living area opposite the sofa was empty, the tv was in the bedroom, so when we had the tv on we had to sit on the bed…… why not just put 2 tv’s in there it Ida suite after all. The bathroom was large but the hot water from the tap was always Luke warm so had to boil the kettle for a wash. The cleanliness of the room was pretty diar I found toe nail clippings on the bedroom floor and their was gold glitter everywhere in the room. We went down to the bar for a drink and I asked if the bar would be open Xmas day evening, and was told yes it would shut at 11pm, when we arrived back that evening at 945pm we got told by reception that the bar had shut at 9pm so all we could do was sit in our room. Overall a nice hotel and ideally situated in Banbury.

We were in the old part of the hotel, which I was pleased about. The receptionist was friendly and I liked the old fashioned feel to it and the fact that it's in the town centre with plenty of parking.

Rooms, cleanliness, price, location is good value for money, but the customer service quality is inconsistent. One particular staff at reception acted abruptly when I ask for bottled water, restaurant service was really slow, maybe staff were stressed or under capacity.

Lovely looking hotel in town centre, quiet room with very large bed in the executive room Friendly staff, paid for car park at front of hotel which was reasonable

We chose this hotel for its location for Bicester village and Oxford.The hotel was good for both of these. Hotel clean.Room spacious and warm. Excellent breakfast. Full English or Continental. Evening meal very nice 3 course. Staff in hotel very friendly.

Firstly the noise was ridiculous. At 3am people were screaming and shouting, then at 5 am people were dragging suitcases across the way shouting, the car park was constantly in and out with cars which was hitting the outside walls of our room.. It was very hot it in the room, the windows didn’t open! Next as we checked in (we had a groupon voucher for breakfast and 2 course meal) we were told we can pick what date we want the meal.. on Saturday night we went down and was told the restaurant was closed, eventually we was put in a spare room alone, this ruined the rest of the night as we were alone, not atmosphere. Food was lovely.

Booked well in advance as have been a regular visitor to Banbury. I have stayed in room 55 which has been the best one so far. We have stayed as a family in the modern room op the garden and not a great experience. I booked two rooms, specifically two rooms in the old part of the hotel, therefore interesting and have a view over the church which is where we were going later. I mentioned all this and in particular requrested room 55 for both children and a dbl room as close as possible for husband and I. When it came to the day of arrival and paid for the rooms, I found that room 55 was out of action due to maintenance, so double room was in modern end and our dble room was opposite the car park / passage in and noisy. Difficult to understand why we weren't notified of change beforehand as it wasn't really worth the bother of explaining and phoning up and not doing the booking all on line with a third party which would have turned out much more competitive anyway, so all things considered, rather dissappointing only as we were expecting something else.

Sleepless nights

Paper thin walls meant I could hear the guest next door snoring extremely loudly and with his tv on as well. Very poor lighting in the room also when trying to work or do make up. Also, when I book a double room I expect a double bed, not 2 singles zipped together. The big seam down the middle was incredibly uncomfortable. Room was clean though and hotel location is excellent.

Disappointed by our non greeting by reception staff when we arrived. Receptionists were talking Amongst themselves and took no notice of us on our arrival. However the bar and catering staff were top notch and the food at both dinner and breakfast were excellent.

I stayed for 2 nights with my partner. Apart from there being no hot water when I wanted a shower, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were really polite and helpful. The only negative comment I would make is that the bar prices are pretty hefty but I guess that's standard for this kind of hotel, the bar was nice though.

When we arrived, we straight away were shocked my how freezing the room was. The window wouldn’t close properly and hence the room was so cold. We also found what looked like a pubic hair on the cover of the bed upon arrival. Then after getting in the shower, we found bits of plastic rubbish in the bath and a bar of soap that had clearly been used by another customer. Overall we are dissatisfied with our stay, and expect some form of compensation/ refund. Thank you

Staff very friendly and good breakfast. Rooms outdated and heating system very bad. It looks like hot water pipes run through the ceiling by which the room is very hot, without the radiator being on.

Helpfull staff, friendly restaurant staff, dinner was lovely breakfast was plentiful. Room in need of deep cleaning especially curtains-nets completely black with dirt and mould. some maintenance work needed.

The room we had on the first night was freezing we were given a heater when we complained which we had on all night - and the room still never got comfatably walm. I tried the radiators a few times over our stay and they never came on. The next day we were able to change room - which was much walmer. The rooms could do with some referbishment eg new lamp shades and some of the furnature. On the plus side the staff were very helpful.
