Great staff, very noisy location

Customer review rating 4.0/5

Martin M. Families - 10/01/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

Experienced very friendly staff both in reception and in the Bar. I stayed in room 57 and sleep was impossible due to traffic noise from 10.30 till 0400 when it died down slightly. This was mixed with the early morning 'turf outs' from local bars! left the hotel at 0530 as little point in trying to sleep regards

Very good value for money

Booked at the last minute to have a short break for New Year. We have stayed at this hotel a few time now and never had a problem this time was no exception, we booked a privileged room which was like a small suite. The staff were very friendly as always. My only issue was the bar closed at about 10:30 on New Years eve when we would have liked to stay for another drink or two. We were told we could order to our room but we didn't really fancy this. It did not spoil our enjouable stay.

had broken foot so needed a ground floor room which the hotel accommodated me with. Chilled break sales were good in Banbury, staff were very helpful indeed

Very average.

I was unhappy with my room as it was very unclean and there seemed be be a extremely large gathering of dust under and behind the bed. It made me very uncomfortable. Also the bathroom facilities were very untidy and dirty.

Executive room was very spacious and comfortable. Bed very comfortable. We appreciated the street view. Stunning garden at the back with a fantastic view while having breakfast. Breakfast very good quality although frustratingly had to wait 8 minutes for the fried eggs to be brought out. Although there was a wedding going on, the Reception service was good, but not in the bar in the evening. We gave up waiting to be served and went elsewhere for a drink. The restaurant was not open throughout the day due to the wedding. The location was excellent extremely close to the shops, pubs and restaurants.

Underwhelmed...

Other guests came second to the wedding party on the night of our stay. The hotel should really have been closed for their private use, or more staff on duty. Those staff that were there did their very best, no criticism of individual efforts only a lack of foresight by management.

Got a good price for a single room. I was in the Manor House which was lovely. The room smelled very strongly of eucalyptus on entry which wasn’t unpleasant just a surprise, you didn’t notice once in the room. There was a wedding the night of my stay and told on check in it wouldn't finish late. It actually finished at 12:10am. There was definitely no chance of sleep before this as even with the window closed the music was very loud. Also no chance of getting any food at the bar/restaurant, I was only told this on check in too. The food didn’t bother me as I was eating out, however any other circumstance it would have been greatly inconvenient to be told at such short notice and would have affected my decision to stay there.

Rooms need deep clean, bathroom dated and needs moderninsing

Raj Business - 20/12/2019 Confirmed reviews ALL

Ok, but not cleaned properly, glitter over floor so not hoovered properly, used tissues behind bathroom ledge by window, smelly stained shower curtain, cracked floor tiles. Room I stayed in was between two laundry cupboards so lots of banging about early morning. Could not open bedroom window as there was a flat roof immediately outside the window and I did not feel safe tucked away in a corner of the hotel. Was not aksed how my stay was when checking out. Did not have breakfast. Lounge area and bar were nice. Outside of hotel looks lovely but could be imroved with external lights to show off the building. Looked closed at night - certainly not welcoming!

Large suite room, but very old decor. However, satisfied our requirements for brief overnight stay having arrived late and needing to depart early. Very narrow accessway to drive through to reach free car park.
