Pretty good very nice location just like a coffee while my partner sleeps and making one in the room would wake her up Still managed after 7.30am only an hour after I got up I’ll bring a flask if I stay again

I appreciated the warm welcome from all the team members I came across. In particular, a lady who was cleaning in the public areas. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, but she is an asset to the hotel. The way she interacted with guests, helping them if she could, really makes you feel welcome.

This hotel is in an amazing spot, right in the middle of Sheffield. We had a superior room (not sure why, but appreciated it!) overlooking the Peace Gardens. Was concerned it might be loud with all the Christmas markets outside but we didn’t hear a thing. Huge, comfy bed too! The staff really make the hotel – they’re so friendly, efficient and helpful. Front desk and bar team were all great. The hotel is definitely tired in places and needs a refresh (no shower shelf, unmatched glasses, scuffs on paint etc.) but it’s perfectly clean, very comfy and super welcoming.

Dear Victoria, We stayed for two nights 14-16 November to celebrate my daughter’s graduation and we’re disappointed that the events staff didn’t get in touch to confirm my booking of a drinks reception, I was charged £650 to my card at check in. I was then asked to pay £254 up from for the drinks reception and when checking out charged another £305 despite having put my own credit in the 3 rooms. I tried calling numerous times but nobody’s is answering the phones at Mercure in Sheffield aside from the general reservations line, who this far have been unable to help or connect me to the finance depot. I’m still waiting for the £396 over charge refund. And also never received my receipt the receptionist promised to email as the printer had broken. All very dissatisfying. I have warned my friends NOT to stay at the Mercure fir their graduations. Please contact me urgently so we can resolve. I have used the Accor complaints service so all will be logged there too. The only contact you have made is this customer satisfaction email - quite appalling as you can see I’m not a very happy customer. Regards Sophia Ahrek

All was clean and tidy in the bedroom and staff were friendly and helpful. The one criticism I would have is that nearly all the hot food for breakfast was cold or just about warm!

From first entering the hotel to leaving it was an excellent stay. The staff were friendly and efficient and as we were staying for my husband’s birthday gave us a lovely room. Food was really nice in lovely surroundings

I have been dealing with Lisa FAULKNER as we have rooms booked until 4Th January, she has been a massive help and so accommodating. The front of house staff have also been, very polite and helpful.

Mattress had ridges and springs pushing into our backs and we did not sleep, waking with severe back pain. Asked for a manager to come and feel the mattress rather than just complain. Reception said they would come in a few minutes. Fifteen minutes later no manager so went to reception, checked out and asked for it to be reported and email me feedback. Nothing received. What appalling customer service! Will cancel my booked December stay and won’t stay here again.

Arrived and 1 and the friendly member of the team happily stowed our bags for us. Arrived back a bit later and checked in and we were met by another friendly member of the team, both very professional. He explained the beakfast times and where it was and where the lifts were to take us to our room. Lovely large clean room and an extreemly comfortable bed. The hotel is 10 minutes from the station with plently of restaurants across the way and the O2 is just round the corner which is where we were heading. The breakfast is of a very good standard and plently of choice. This is my second stay there and I would definately return.

Stayed in your hotel a good few times now. But slightly disappointed this time as we was told our check in at 2 so after our spa treatment which ended 3pm went to check in but room was still not ready, we had arranged to meet family and friend at 4.30 so needed time to get ready. Our room finally ready at 4.45 made us late for our other reservation

Paula in reception was very attentive, has a smile on her face every time we spoke to her and was helpful and welcoming. Both Paula & the Asian lady were approachable and helpful. This sort if welcome always starts any stay a better experience.

Comfortable room with a good view of the peace gardens although the room was quite dated, good service, pleasant breakfast with gluten free toast provided but no GF cereals on offer. Enjoyed our stay.

Good service at reception and nice welcome and service at breakfast. Plenty of choice at breakfast with freshly cooked eggs. Room very clean and comfortable. Bed looked lumpy but was actually comfortable although suggest time for a new duvet as that had defifinitely seen better days. Room very quiet. We have stayed a the St Paul's a coule of years ago and although still good not as a good as it was, looking a little tired and a few of the public areas need dusting/refreshing but what doesn't after the last year and a half.

Was a nice stay. The staff were very attentive and when gowns and slippers weren’t in the room as requested they kindly phoned to have them delivered. The standard room was a generous size and had great views onto the winter garden, I wouldn’t bother with upgrading. The room was quite dated, with stains under the vanity table, falling paint, blown hall light and there was excessive mould in the bathroom especially on the shower heads. The bed was extremely uncomfortable leading to two poor nights sleep. Every movement of your partner could be felt and the spring made an awlful squeaking noise. Spa facilities were good I felt. The pool was a nice size although the chlorine was a tad overpowering. The steam & aroma rooms could have been a bit cleaner but it was acceptable. Dinner included in the first night was delicious and staff were attentive, strangely there was no drinks menu and we relied on the memory of our waiter. We opted for inclusive afternoon tea instead of another dinner on the second day. It was satisfactory and filled the gap, nothing outstanding. The breakfast on the first morning was lovely and hot but poorly displayed in steel trays on top of each other, breakfast on the second morning was stone cold but displayed nicely in white crockery, coffee on the second morning was extremely weak. Unless I intend on using the spa facilities I probably wouldn’t stay here again.
