Expensive, basic room not very clean. Cheap uncomfortable mattress .... Empty beer glass and bottle left by door in corridor by someone else. Bathroom had mould appearing in shower and needed a deep clean.staff too busy talking to themselves on check out to really be bothered. Disappointing.

Single duvet on a double bed old socks from previous guest found in the room, hospitality tray not topped up, so not good enough really expected better. It was our Ruby wedding weekend and not once did the hotel recognise this and say congratulations. It’s the little things sometimes. Disappointed but nothing will be done because my experience probably does not count.

The hotel was easy to find after parking at Q Car Park 2 minutes away. Reception was very welcoming having a very long day driving. Overall the hotel had a relaxing/relaxed atmosphere, rooms were spotlessly clean. Liked the complementary water although we dis not use any. Breakfast Sunday morning was gentle, well prepare breakfast, which was tasty. I would stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended.

Impressive building, courteous staff and the room was clean and bed comfy. Only slight disappointment was the tea and coffee at breakfast. I think for speed several pots of coffee and tea are made in advance, first morning coffee was very sludgy amd second morning early was only warm not hot.

Nice room bit stuffy

The hotel was nice although we only used the room and no other facilities. The room was very stuffy and having no windows to open this was an issue. We turned the heating right down and I touched the rail in the bathroom to see if it was going off and it was ridiculously hot and I burnt my finger. It didn’t seem to go off at all and there is no extractor fan in there so that didn’t help either.

Check in The woman who checked us in was excellent and all members of FOH were faultless. They let us borrow an umbrella each day without a charge. Housekeeping The room wasn’t cleaned once in our 3 day trip. We did have the do not disturb sign on from 8-10am on all 3 days but would have liked a little spruce each morning for £100 per night. Facilities 2 of the lights in the room didn’t work & there was only 1 biscuit on the service tray, for 2 people for 4 days. The hair drier also didn’t work. Comp access to the spa each day was a great bonus. Breakfast Overall disappointing, we didn’t even go on the final morning as it was so boring. You need to visit Hamptons for their breakfast to see what the competition is offering. Your spread is old fashioned. Update it with waffles, avocado, poached eggs, breakfast tacos and more of a focus on local, seasonal, vegan items. Oat milk, sourdough etc would have been fab. Little pots of yoghurt would even improve it. Soggy fruit, stale bread & cold tea didn’t cut the mustard sorry. Sleep Very good. Nice and quiet even at the front with the town hall bell ringing every 30 minutes. The room was lovely and dark at night. 2 single beds pushed together isn’t a double bed though.

only ONE LIFT WORKING during our stay at the hotel which is unacceptable for a four star hotel

However to allow thIs to happen we must take one out of service. I appreciate thsi is frustrating however as the period of time for works is approx 4 weeks per lift there will be times when we only opersate twop lifts - we do have 3 guest lifts. I wasn't aware that we had two out of service this weekend - please accept my apolgies for this. The stay overall was pleasent but could have been better. The room was comfortable, but a bit dated. The shaving mirror was loose from the bathroom wall. The bar staff were rude and condescending to both me and my wife. A good hotel but could be a lot better.

Enjoyed everything about our stay although my bill has not been emailed to me as promised and I was overcharged for breakfast but I cannot check if it has been corrected for obvious reasons, that said it would not stop me from staying again

The room was ok, no tea or coffee facilities apart from nespresso, which me and my husband don’t like. We ordered room service, pizza was fantastic but the nachos were really disappointing, £9 for large portion, it had no guacamole, sour cream and barely any cheese. The dressing gowns were really uncomfortable.

Where to begin? Terrible check in- 2 rooms booked and pre paid but only 1 on the system. They kindly gave me the opportunity to pay for the room AGAIN at a higher rate. I came back a few hours later and another person managed to check us in without any issues. The earlier embarrassment could’ve been spared. Very strange. Dinner- started with a long list of items not on the menu. So we ordered something that was on the menu only to be told 20 minutes later that they didn’t have that in either. Finally we re ordered and the food came after over an hour wait. When the food arrived, we noticed that the order was completely wrong and this ruined our meal. We were wrongly charged when it came to paying for the bill and they apologised and gave us £3.00 off. As we left, I overheard another table had the same problem. Cocktails- drinks we wanted again not available. Chose another popular drink from the menu that was available. It came but the cream was clearly out of date so sat on the top of the cocktail floating around in lumps. We told the bar man and no apology given or refund for the £7 drink- meaning it was wasted. 1 of the rooms we had paid for, had broken slabs on the bed. Only positive was the late checkout which most hotels don’t offer.

It’s wasn’t what was expected. Paid for early checkin and none was available. Room 522 had many issues - floor/carpet wet, safe not working, bathroom towels not available, not enough shampoo etc, door would not lock/close properly. Move to room 508 safe had not combo pad to use it. Too close to elevator and too much noise. I had asked not to be too close. Was told no more rooms to move into. We gave up and giving trying to have issues fixed.

The room was uncomfortably hot for our young baby

We were looking forward to our stay - however the room was uncomfortably hot for both ourselves and our young baby. We phoned down to reception to ask for advice on how to cool it down. Followed their instructions as there was no instructions for the heating system. We followed these instructions but also used our own initiative to find and turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom. The room remained uncomfortably hot for Both nights of our stay. We were worried about our baby overnight.

A lovely stay as always but rooms too hot and air on not very effective. Also the extra bed was extremely uncomfortable so ended up sleeping on the 2 armchairs.

First as on several visits one lift was out of order, when I asked at the desk about it we were told it had been out of use for two weeks!! This is not good with a busy hotel . Then in the room a bulb had gone as you walk through the door. The uplighter in the corner of the room was on BUT couldn’t be turned off because the switch was broken off! That had to be unplugged. We had a king size bed BUT it had a double size quilt in a king size duvet cover?? Eight inch gap each side. Why? More importantly was the water pressure or lack of. A trickle from the taps and the lavatory cistern was something else!!!! We stayed in room 415. I did report this to Sweety Upadhyay who was very apologetic and very nice, so this bad experience hasn’t put me off from coming again.
