Great staff, great location, we loved the large rooms and mezzanine bar area; used the gym, pool and spa facilities which were attended by Catrin who showed us around the facilities and explained it all very well. The lifts were smooth and fast and there were three available. The room was spacious and peaceful - we’ve stayed before and will keep coming back.

Disappointing Spa Access – Poor Communication & Unhelpful Staff

I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely frustrated with the process of accessing the spa facilities. When booking, we were told we would receive free passes, but the hotel completely failed to communicate how to actually get them. The process was unnecessarily long and frustrating, requiring email confirmation, which was never made clear to us beforehand. To make matters worse, if you’re unable to confirm your email, you’re forced to pay a £10 charge—absolutely ridiculous considering we were paying guests. The whole experience was stressful, especially since we had planned this trip months in advance expecting a relaxing stay. The receptionist, Laura, was unhelpful and unwilling to assist when I explained that I hadn’t received any email. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she was dismissive and made no effort to accommodate us. I have never stayed at a hotel where using the spa was made so difficult. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere. The staff are unhelpful, the system is flawed, and the whole experience was more stressful than relaxing. Not worth the money!

Lovely spa , pool , and Resturant for dinner and breakfast Room 804, told near lift ! The noise at night was like someone skateboarding behind the headboard of the bed As I find the lift was behind that wall . This room should never been a bedroom , to top that guests opposite 801 , decided to have loud conversations in the corridor and continue in their bedroom 00.22 hrs notified reception at 01.19 a member of staff arrived within 10 mins , understand 3 in the room 2 were not guests , the member of staff was excellent in trying to deal with a verbally abusive female who was out of control,in the corridor and then back in the bedroom , he spoke with them and then left with the 2 non guest leaving the room 5 min later , ensuring they shouted loudly don’t make a noise or there would be complaint's to the person remaining . At 01.46hrs These people need at be banned from your chain . With the room position and this disturbances was totally shattered the next day . Ruined the whole occasion . This was my first return visit in 9 years to this hotel having stayed here many times before ,this was the worst

This was not the first time we have stayed at this hotel. This time unfortunately it was not as good a previous visits. The room service for breakfast was not received at the time requested. The quality of the breakfast was poor. Toast was not toast it was bread. The poached eggs were like boiled. No sauce was supplied either and it was cold. Our room also was not cleaned as when we returned from shopping at 5 - they were ready to clean the room at this late hour. Also to get hold of room service we had to contact reception on the external landline via our own phone. I appreciate hospitality has taken a battering but when you are paying the price you pay - you expect a certain standard of service. I did appreciate the room size and also the kind touch of birthday Welsh cakes. As we had been before and it was excellent- this time was not the same standard.
