Very disappointing. We paid £370 for a double room owing to the Coldplay concert. That was our choice as all hotel prices up. However, breakfast not included. There was no water in room or any biscuits with tea tray Check out was at 12. after having a late night we were woken by Housekeeping knocking on door at 9am. Drab rooms wouldn't stay again

We had a corner room (1411) for 3 nights which had the sun on it all day. So hot in the room that it was impossible to be in it for long during the day as the air conditioning didn’t work (the hotel had it all set to 19 degrees and couldn’t go lower). We were supplied with a fan which just blew the hot air around the room. We got back to the room on our 2nd day there (Friday) to find the room door open and no-one around. We had reported the previous night that the in room safe didn’t work so had luckily taken all valuables with us . I went to reception and explained what had happened and the receptionist agreed to investigate and let me know the outcome - I’m still waiting to hear. Very soon after this the maintenance guy came to get the safe working. He was going to come back to clean the air conditioning vents to see if that helped with the heat - but didn’t come back! We also arranged with the housekeeping supervisor (she wrote it on a clipboard in her hand) to have the room made up on the Saturday morning at 10.00am as my wife was attending a function in the hotel at 1.00pm and needed to shower and change before going to it. This didn’t happen and that afternoon I went to reception and spoke to the duty manger who was duly apologetic and immediately contacted house keeping to get our room made up. This was done, but the promise to get the air conditioning serviced to see if that would help never happened. The duty manager promised that he would look into everything I had told him about - the room door being left open on the Friday morning, bad housekeeping staff, poor air conditioning and unbearable hot room - and that I would hear from the General Manager on the following day (Sunday) -but once again this was a empty promise. I’m still waiting. On a general note the breakfast restaurant was a joke. There are over 180 rooms in this hotel but they only have 1 (one) coffee/tea machine and 1 (one) toaster. They did have a small urn type device for hot water though - but as it wasn’t connected to a power supply the water in it didn’t stay hot for long

We were on the 11th floor. Great room. But the room was hot. The air con was not working that great. A fan had been provided. Room clean. The breakfast quality was very poor.

Not bad

I've stayed here many times on and off over the last 20 years, and my son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception here in 2014. This time I felt that the place had lost its touch, and the quality was slipping from where it had been.

Stayed 3 nights of work purposes. Was able to check-in at home and just picked up my key. Which was great after a 5 hours journey. The reception staff were friendly and answered all my questions. My room was on the 12th floor and a great size. Enjoyed the spa facilities which were the icing on the cake. Woukd highly recommend the hotel if you are staying in Cardiff.
