A walk into the centre of town, with its restaurants, shops and other attractions, but not too far to be inconvenient for someone with mobility problems. Rooms are reasonable: the bathroom was a bit small and oddly laid out but perfectly functionable, the lights were either all on or off, which was a little inconvenient but acceptable, and the air con seemed not too effective. In all not too bad at all, suiting our needs without being really cosy and relaxing. Breakfasts were good, one can always find fault here, in most hotels, but I couldn't really complain. Evening meals too were good, we enjoyed ours and couldn't find room for a dessert. Wines were a bit diappointing, slightly overpriced for what they were in my opinion, but that is a matter of taste. Staff were, with the exception of our room cleaner who we met once, polite, efficient and pleasant. We stay here of preference when we visit Cardiff, and would have no qualms about returning in future.

I wish that I had time to appreciate the facilities more. Quick and easy check-in and check-out. Very helpful staff both in reception and restaurant. Smelly and slightly blocked drain in room hand basin. Awful TV platform (i.e. Freeview) with limited channels available and a complete inability to have a TV Guide.

Injury due to incident

Resulted in injury due to the bed not being zipped together by housekeeping, so I was awoken at 1am with a painful stuck arm, still have bruising, the receptionist took a photo of bruising and filled in accident form that morning before check out but haven't heard anything. Feel trip was ruined due to not sleeping due to pain and worry it would happen again, and having discomfort for 48 hours after check out

As with most British hotels, cleanliness could be better, and we felt that the hotel was just short of being very good. Staff were really helpful and welcoming which was nice. Breakfast areas very nicely styled too. Bathroom missing in little details - lights near the mirror would be good - and towels were just adequate. My husband watched the manager (presumably - actually the only rather grumpy unhelpful perspn) tick all the boxes on his quality control sheet without stirring from the front desk...what is the point of that? Value for money was good.

Reception staff in general wasn't welcoming, seems bored to assist the guests for checking in or giving touristic informations... only the one who made our check out was nice with us. Room was pleasant, comfortable andspacious. Gym facilities are very well equipped, spa is good but not cleaned enough. Breakfast was good with a large choice

Disappointing, no better than a premier inn

disappointing experience, room was spacious but cold, it was warm by the door but no where else even with thermostat on 25. breakfast was fine but lots of dirty tables as there seemed only 1 or 2 people working (very hard) The bar area is very nice and comfortable. on arrival th3 car park was full and I was advised to park at the ncp, no-problem as the hotel offer 50% off the rate, but I was advised to move my car by reception the following day to the hotel carpark, but did not mention there was a charge and that it is more expensive than the ncp.

The hotel was very nice however I felt we could have been provided with more refreshments. The room was a superior room which I would have thought included gowns and slippers also the toiletries were very minimal for the room

It was good but I did expect a bit more really. It compare to ibis/premier inn quality wise and was expecting to compare to Novotel/Jurys. It was a bit dated and tired but adequate. I had a swim and showers in the spa area were dirty.

Lovely stay, got a little upgrade for our anniversary, so thank you for that! Set menu in evening was simple (only 3 choices for each course) but was absolutely fabulous food! tasted amazing! Breakfast buffet could of had a few more 'continental' options but still was very tasty!
