Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square 4 estrellas

The first thing to say is the picture on the website is somewhat flattering. The area around has some barren ground, but it dies sit centrally adjacent to the original cathedral. I was there for a two-night stay, with work booking the room. As others have stated, the room layout is somewhat odd, with the wash hand basin being outside the bathroom. This was so you could make tea/coffee, but this was hidden in a cupboard, with no information to say where it was. In fact, information in the room was very limited. The bed was very comfy, but the air conditioning was very loud, and seemed to reset to 15c. The room was reasonably big and the TV was of a good standard, and the wireless phone charger was an unexpected surprise, as was the bluetooth speaker, even if I couldn't get it to work properly. The downside was the stained carpets and dated decor. Also, and this isn't the hotels fault, the very noisy children running up and down the hall at 7am were NOT appreciated. The staff at breakfast were very polite, The selection was good, though the cooked breakfast was cooler in temperature than I would like. I would have liked tomatoes and/or mushrooms as an option too. I don't know how this hotel achieves a 4 star rating, as I heard stories from other guests in relation to very poor room service. I don't think I would book if I was paying for this myself.

The hotel is centrally located so good for catching the tram and getting into the shopping area. It’s near to other bars and restaurants, for us,it was perfect. The staff were helpful, the restaurant and food was very good especially breakfast. Our room on the third floor was large and the bed very comfortable . Parking is not included but there is an area to the side of the hotel which is reserved for hotel guests. It’s a wee bit tricky to find but it is signposted. We would most certainly use this hotel again, we had a wonderful four day stay.

Este es un hotel que suelo reservar a las ciudades que visito. No falla nunca desde la atención hasta el desayuno. Ventajas: amplio, buena ubicación, limpio, baño limpio, con todas las comodidades, gerencia muy atenta Desventajas: no encontré aspectos negativos

Este hotel, en el mismisimo centro de la ciudad, está en linea de la cadena, posiblemente un poco por debajo de las expectativas en un hotel de 4 estrellas. La habitación, correcta y limpia. El desayuno buffet correcto (el cafe mediocre). El personal, amable, algunos un poco frios. El restaurante bastante flojo para un hotel de esta categoria con una carta muy corta y unas preparaciones mas que cuestionable. Atencion amable pero descuidada (una cena de 1 plato y postre, mas de una hora). La relacion calidad precio es normal tirando a floja salvo por la ubicación que es excepcional

Nosotros iniciamos un recorrido por la isla sur desde Christchuch, el hotel es correcto, buena atención, situado en el centro de la ciudad,hace pocos años sufrieron un terremoto que destruyó la ciudad, nos impresionó lo que puede llegar a destruir un movimiento de tierras, aún es una ciudad fantasma.
