Single curtain half window cover

Room had only one curtain covering half the window overlooking street. No privacy, constant light from oppsite side of street. Mentioned in foyer but person at reception acted surprised and did nothing. My friend in room opposite me had same issue.

Good Budget Value

This is a Budget Hotel, so if you pay for budget you get budget. I have paid a lot more for a lot less value. Yes the rooms are small/old and the cleaning average, but the location and staff are excellent. Good parking next door ($30 per day, this is good for Auckland CBD). I had three teenage boys in tow and had asked for two rooms beside each other and two single beds in each. We got what asked for and did the trick for our two-night stay. Not what I usually stay in but for me and boys was bang on and cost was very reasonable. Being CBD it is a bit noisy but have $360 up the road and still had the same level of noise so it is what it is. Overall a good experience and would use again if I needed budget accommodation in Auckland CBD.

Small room, dirty, mold in the ceiling and in the bathroom, very very bad smell in the room. Unable to use the shower because it was next to the toilet and sink. Carpet smelly and dirty. I wouldn't recommended or going back again. Breakfast not in the hotel, you had to walk to a close restaurant to have your breakfast.

Stayed in May 2023 A no-frills hotel in which we were only staying for 2 nights as we were travelling on from Auckland. Overall it was an average experience. Room is small which isn't an issue, we expected that for the price paid however room was mostly clean except along the side of the bed where the window/balcony is. Perhaps due to the size of the room and the size of the bed, the bed cannot be moved in order to vacuum that section of the carpet which has built up dirt from numerous previous occupants. What made the budget hotel feel below average is the fact that it looks like a shell of its former self. Cabinetry slot in the bathroom for maybe when they used to have washing machine or something there now it just looks unsightly. There is a little kitchenette which we didn't use, front desk staff may be able to provide basic utensils and cutlery. The lobby also delivers the same feel, with the front desk staff working in an unused bar/kitchen area. Despite the echoing feeling that ambience creates, staff were friendly and attentive. There are great budget hotels and there are bad budget hotels, Ibis Budget Auckland Central unfortunately falls below average. In the lobby, there are also tea/coffee facilities.

Good Budget Accom

n1c0lar0cks Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Before arriving I read some of these reviews and was quite alarmed and concerned. However when I get there I had no issues at all. It was small (but of course it was as it was very cheap for an epic location and it’s budget accomodation) but there was room both sides of the bed, room in the kitchenette area and room in the bathroom (albeit a little small for the shower). Everything was clean, the staff were helpful and I found it really quiet despite being central city. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. There was also a small balcony with a nice view.
