Had an almost perfect stay at Sofitel Macau Ponte 16. Was origibally booked for 2 nights but a flight cancellation forced us to shorten our Macau stay to 1 night only. THE BEST ASSETS The best asset of the hotel is its employees especially JESSICA at the front reception, ROCKY at the concierge, EDUARD at the lobby bar and ANGEL of housekeeping. They all also happen to be Filipinos - their warmest smiles and sense of service are excellent! THE WORST However, we had a bad and humiliating experience with this guy from concierge/entrance door staff member named SAM as we prepare to go to the airport. We had to repack our luggage since we did more shopping that afternoon. We already had the permission of Rocky to do a quick repack before he left to get us a taxi. But when this SAM saw us in the corner (far from reception desk and away from the sight of incoming guests), he started shooing us away as if we were beggars! He stood out among all the staff of Sofitel Macau because he was rude, condescending and perhaps even racist - by the way he acted! The language barrier did not hide his disdain for us repacking in the corner and was ordering us to leave and move to a far area! I am a Gold Accor member and I jave stayed in many Sofitel and Accor hotels worldwide and I have never been treated so badly - by any hotel staff member anywhere! We felt humiliated. Good thing, hotel manager DAVID approached us quickly before the situation escalated badly! I had to ask David to call SAM back many times before he apologized to us. David said he will retrain Sam in dealing with hotel guests! David tried to pacifyus by giving us a paper bag with 3 small water packs. We did not accept it. It just added insult to injury as if 3 small cartons of water are enough for the insult we received from the awful attitude of this SAM ! LOCATION Location of hotel is near the Outer Macau Ferry Terminal but far from the airport. We arrived via ferry from Hongkong. The hotel shuttle waiting area is quite far from thr arrivals terminal. However, we had to pay about 150 MOP for our trip to the airport for our Macau-Manila return trip because Sofitel dies not offer services to the airport. Other 5-star hotels in Macau offer both ferry and airport shuttles for their guests. Sofitel Macau is located in the old Macau section of the city - near the Ruins St Paul's Cathedral and Senado Square but far from the glitzy strip of casinos like the Parisian, Londoner and Venetian. Tip: You can take the Sofitel shuttle to Outer Macau Ferry Terminal and theb hop on to any of the service buses for any of these luxury casinos - for free! From Venetian, we walked and we were in awe of the magnificent designs of the lobbies and the facades of each hotel. While old Macau gave us a glimpse of old Europe when it was occupied by Portugal, the casino strip had the modern Europe and lavish LasVegas feels.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and the good quality of service and attention to details reamains. The staff are amazing at the gym have been comfortable and immaculate. The rooms are very refreshing and comfortable and the view.

On words that i can say. Extraordinary Hospitality. from the first chek in, they really attention everything small detail about me and my parents. Special thanks to the grneral manager Vinzenz Rosa de Pauli whos arrange very well. Thanks to Fred (if im not mistaken) who always assist us very well and very detail. And the club millesime are wonderful. Thanks to Catherine, Kevin, Victor, Kyle, Macy, Doreen, Claudia, Ann, Doris and Russel for the great service at the club, and the Manager whos i forgot to ask his name who always pay attention and of course the food is very delicion and special attention to Catherine whos make a very delicious cocktail. For me its just awesome

Their staff are very accommodating and the food are delicious. Quality of food at its best. Really love their salad selection and dessert section. Value for money. The ambiance is good. Will definitely comeback again when we return to Macao.
