The Ibis Budget Portsmouth is located in the Southsea area, Fratton Station is a 9 minutes walk from the hotel. We are only a 10 minute drive from Portsmouth International port. Take your time enjoying our Breakfast buffet with our relaxed noon check-out. We are a 2 minute walk away from the Portsmouth City football Stadium Clarence Pier is an amusement pier in Portsmouth, Hampshire. It is located next to Southsea Hoverport. Unlike most seaside piers in the UK, the pier does not extend very far out to sea and instead goes along the coast

Mostly spread across low-lying Portsea Island, Portsmouth is a city known for its rich maritime heritage. Guests simply must pay visits to Portsmouth International Port, Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays - all less than three miles from our hotel.

Being in a wheelchair can be hard if things aren’t right eg wet room, tight turning space etc. But everything was good! Lovely & clean, also good decor, basic, but had all you need for short stays! Very friendly helpful staff , always smiling ( when we saw them!) Thankyou to all!!

Dim experience

Only positive was the pleasant staff. Room was grim- painted revolting colour - bathroom door damaged (looked as though it had been kicked in) - TV had no remote control - there was a kettle but no tea/coffee/milk/cup. - "white" towels were grey- bed uncomfortable - rock bottom quality pillows. Altogether a seedy feel. Parking promised on website but only insecure public park available - not appropriate with bikes on car Very poor value for money

Toilet was blocked and so was the one in the lobby

Me and my partner stayed for one night. The room was all we needed but there were some strange design features. For example, my partner accidentally woke me up in the morning as the light switch for the shower also turned a light on in the room itself but there was no window in the shower so he needed the light on. The room with the toilet in was so small that my partner couldn’t actually sit down. He’s on the larger side but not so much so that he shouldn’t be accommodated for. The toilet in the lobby was blocked so he couldn’t use that either but when he reported that, no one seemed interested and it still wasn’t fixed by the time we checked out the next day. Then our room toilet also blocked and again, no one was interested in fixing it for us. There was no antibacterial hand soap in the room, just an all in one face, body and hair wash which I didn’t feel comfortable about being enough to get our hands truly clean but I’m sure it was. The room was too hot but not enough for the climate control in the room to start cooling it down and we weren’t able to adjust the settings on it by design. It’s a shame overall as the room should have been just what we needed and for the price of £80+ for one night, it didn’t seem budget friendly enough to excuse these failings.

Decent stay

The location was good but the room is rather basic with sink in the room rather than enclosed in a bath / shower room. Otherwise it is good enough for a short stay. I would have expected something a little bit better for the price I paid.

Unexpected event.

Unfortunately we had our room broke in to and had an item stolen and our bags gone through. The staff were excellent and the support was great, got moved to another room and the burglary being looked into by staff and police. Satisfied with the result and the compensation of full refund on our stay. I have stayed in the Ibis Hotel many times and never had any issues. It's a shame the incident spoilt our stay and left us a bit uncomfortable

Easy to find and good to have free parking close to the train station. The heating was an issue for us as it only gives cool air when outside is 20°, and when it’s 18/19° your options are air circulation but it’s hot, or make do with the window. The reception staff were very helpful and gave us a small fan to borrow which worked for about 24 hours before packing up, and there weren’t any others to borrow so I’d recommend looking into this (especially with summer coming up).

Great budge stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff are super helpful. Accommodation is very good and there are shops and places to eat near by as well as buses and trains. Not far to walk to the sea either. Felt safe.

Stuck in Portsmouth over xmas waiting for a delayed ferry amid Tier 4 covid lockdown, the Ibis Budget Portsmouth was a haven of sanity. Friendly staff who did everything in their power to make a strange stay welcoming and enjoyable. As usual, functional and clean with brilliant staff.

Having got our rooms at a very good price the worry was were they okay. Indeed they were and excellent value. Obviously a budget hotel but great value for money and perfect for our needs. Great staff as well.
