Great location, awful beds and pillows

It is currently 5 a.m., and I am writing this review as I can not sleep due to the very hard bed and awful pillows. I have been here for two nights and, unfortunately, do not feel rested. I appreciate that we are all different and like varying forms of firmness in mattresses. Having stayed in many hotels, this was probably the hardest mattress ever. So ok if you like a very firm mattress but not if you don't. Having read some other reviews, I phoned down to reception twice to ask for a mattress topper, to be told we don't have them. Having paid over £250 a night, I would have thought this would be standard. I did plan to use this hotel weekly as I recently started employment in one of the offices nearby, but I am going to have to look for another hotel, even though this location is spot on. I would have also expected things like shower caps, coffee, and milk to be replenished for the price I paid. My room also overlooked the station, so the train noise was a contributing factor to not being able to sleep. In summary, I've stayed at five star hotels that cost less but cater a little more for all its varied clients. Very disappointed that I now have to look for another hotel not too far from the office.

My family and I stayed at Novotel London Paddington Hotel on 26 Nov and the service from Novotel was good. We were impressed with their services. They attended to my queries immediately. It was also convenient to paddington station and lots of restaurants choices to choose. You can also find affordable convience store nearby. The staff was very helpful also. They even fixed the shower bath when we shared that it was flooding. They rectified the issue immediately. Hence we decided to stay there the next time we visit London. However, the 25 pound plush toy ( coggi) we bought on 28 Nov from Windsor castle for my daughter was disappeared from our room. We gave feedback to the hotel. Hence the receptionist shared that it might be placed together with the towels and the housekeeper might put them in the laundry bag. They would check for me. Due to this issue, I had to be vigilant with my items. I now store my belongings in my suitcase or arrange them properly before leaving the room. Prior to this, it took me 45 minutes to check throughly the whoIe room before going to the receptionist to inform them about this issue. I trust this hotel and would never expect this will happened to us. I was shocked and unhappy because this never happened at other hotels from other countries where we stayed, and they even put the plush toy on the bed after housekeeping. Their reason was the plush toy might be together with the towels and currently it had sent to the laundry shop. They also mentioned that the housekeeper did not see our item. Too be honest, the item was not small. They even promised to 5000 points into my credit and will deliver the coggi back to my residence if they find it from the laundry shop. I appreciate that. Till now they have not responded to me. I checked out on 1st Dec. We left with a heavy heart and shared that we might not consider going there again. If you are travelling with children and plan to stay at this hotel due to conviency, do place your stuff especially plush toys in proper places before heading out. REM to also inform them that you would not Want your room to face in front of the train station as it can be noisy early in the morning. If not, consider other Novotel hotels. Btw, we only had the 25 pound coggi ( sounvenar and we know that the late queen loves coggi, hence we bought it ) for a day. We brought for our daughter. 🙁 now is gone forever, sad 😞

We chose this hotel as we wanted to be close to Paddington for easy access to the Heathrow Express. As others have mentioned, it is in an enclosed area, but we did not have any problem with a taxi dropping us at the hotel's door. There are some great food options around the hotel, plus a small Sainsbury's if you need to grab any essentials. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and check-in did not take long. We had room service the first night, and our meals were excellent. Breakfast was your usual hotel buffet, with a good selection and options to suit everyone. Again we found the restaurant staff to be friendly and welcoming. Our room had everything we needed, some basic coffee and tea supplies and a safe. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean with views over Paddington and the London skyline. The only downside is the room's price - it was pretty tired and needed the carpets replaced and a bit of a freshen-up, but the price you pay here is definitely for the convenience of the location to Paddington station.

The Reception Staff were courteous and very helpful during my stay. The bar staff were equally impressive. The location is close to several tube lines at Paddington Station, including the Elizabeth Line. A short walk to and from the hotel to the tube, you can be just about anywhere in no time. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and would choose it again; part of the ACCOR Group.

Neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. Decent shower and bathroom. A toilet without a sink is not ideal. Toiletries are in small quantities. I would prefer cans attached to the wall. Worn out stained carpet that should have been replaced long ago. Comfortable bed, pillows, and crispy sheets. Location did not work for me. The room was extremely hot without a satisfactory air control system.
