It was overall a good experience. The location was perfect for my purposes and the underground car park was perfect (although paid). The main downside was the lift. With only one lift for all, it would take a while during the busiest times (in the morning for example).

Despite we went for the online checking to avoid any queue, we had to wait to be attended and on top of that, the person attending us was in a very bad mood. The floor where the room was, smelled really bad, like a chemical used for cleaning but in big dosage. The room was ok but the restroom needed a more deep cleaning as there was hair everywhere in the floor. As well as ants. The double bed was ok but the single one which is a convertible isn't really comfy and shouldn't be charged as a good one. The breakfast was ok but there should be personnel ready to clean out the tables as there were several ones with leftovers from previous persons.

Arranging a night in an unknown Ibis is risky. I've always been asking for nonsmoking rooms, and lots of times the tobacco stink in the room is more than a issue. One of the last times my room was flooded 1 inch of water (wet luggage also) because of a stuck drain pipe. Hopefully, waiters use to be receptive and help. Other times equipment show lots of wear (lamps, sink taps, shower) with broken or lost parts, scratches... Most of these occurs in France and Holland. About the breakfast, we've found some hotels offering cooked ham or turkey ham starting to smell bad, or cheese that's not very attractive. OK, I must admit that we use to travel on the cheap and we use to make reservations in low priced Ibis under 75€. This time, room was perfect, absolutely no issue: shower was ok, clean, no smell, confortable bed, working windows, and no excessive wear on equipment. It was new year's eve and we went to the breakfast quite late (still in time). Without asking, the waitress started to refill the bread baskets with excellent, still warm delicious pieces of bread, warm croissants, fruit, milk bottles for us to enjoy. There was several people in the lunch room and the waitress proptly cleaned the tables, even the front desk people helped. They were working as a team and willing that we had a good stay. All meals looked fine, healthy, and there were some Catalan regional specialities available. Chapeau. If I should point to something wrong, I must say that the diskwaher machine does not make the best work with cutlery, as some spoons had some sticky residue. Only this.

We had a great stay at the IBIS Mataro. The staff were very friendly, the room was spacious with an great comfy bed and a large shower. Secure parking was very good.. Will deinately use this hotel again when back in this area.

I stayed one night and one week later I wanted to serve again a night. I received a confirmation at 18h30 and at 22h30 I received the cancellation. Unfortunately, I was driving and when I arrived at 5min before midnight I was told that the hotel was fully booked. Nice if you have tired kids with you... I wonder what would have happened if I had decided before the hotel, such as at 22h, to cancel the reservation. According to the conditions I were obliged to pay. Apart from that during the first stay toilet flush was broken and the entire check-in took nearly 25min.

Robbery at the ibis Mataro hotel (Reservation HQHDDMSN)

I am writing to complain about the situation which happened while I staying in the IBIS Mataro hotel. I was robbed. It happened at breakfast in the lobby restaurant. I put my backpack on the chair near the table where I sited. At the moment while I was doing the coffee my backpack has been stolen. People in the restaurant saw the man in a cap, who rapidly came into the restaurant, grabbed and carried away my backpack. With a backpack was stolen my documents - National passport, International passport, driver license, two cars datasheet, keys from two my cars, keys from my two apartments, all my credit cards, two mobile phones (private and corporate), tax documentation, cash around 500 Euro, delegate badge to European Oncology Congress (ESMO 2019), so I stayed in Barcelona without money and documents. Part of my life was stolen in the hotel. I had to contact the consulate for the Emergency passport issue (and had to pay for this procedure). I had to save money for my vacation in Barcelona. I think it was an important emergency incident in the hotel, but the manager of the Ibis Mataro hotel met with me only on Monday, September 30. He said to me that it was ONLY THE SECOND case of robbing in the hotel's restaurant. As manager and person graduated MBA, I think it is a huge mistake that security conditions have not been improved in the hotel after the first incident. I think that the guest in the hotel should feel themselves safely. What I have now - spoiled vacation, I am without documents (the recovery of the documents will take more than one month) and cards (I can recover them only after issue of my ID - in the month), my money was stolen, and the main - was stolen the reputation of your hotels chain! My lawyers recommend me to sue the hotel and the Accor company, for compensation of my losses related to violation of the security system at the hotel and compensation for non-pecuniary damage. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this misunderstanding within the next seven days.

Overall my stay in this hotel was nice, staff working there is really friendly and helpful. Standard of the room was okay, I didn't expect a lot from a 2 stars hotel, but the whole sealing in the bathroom was covered in mold. It's unhealthy for people who stay there and also it smells bad in the room even though we were leaving window open all the time.

This one is the most pleasant Ibis I have stayed at. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was particularly tasty. The room rates are very reasonable for this place, close to the town centre and the beaches
