After my recent 3 day 2 nights visit unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel. On booking in the receptionist was very polite and pleasant 10/10 for customer service. But on entering my room we was left was very deflated. The room sizes are at least half the size in length than a Travel lodge. The room I stayed in 218 was seriously run down [see photos attached] the king-size bed is shown in all photos between a wall and the window but what it doesn't show is you only have a foot in length between the walls to maneuver around the bed. This room had sash windows which had a pain of glass cracked in two places with a 5pence size hole in it. Also top left the window had fallen and there was a 2 inch gap which allowed cold air to blow in. This was a very old unrepaired window. There was another interior window. Walls are plaster boarded with wooden joists between each room so you can hear noises from the corridors and other guest rooms. This room was extremely dated and needs a serious upgrade [see photos]. The worst part was the seriously poor quality old mattress which had a 2 inch mattress topper on it which was so flat that it felt as if you was sleeping on a stone slab. Both our backs where seriously hurting in the morning and we had very poor sleep. You stay in a hotel to enjoy your stay and have a good night's sleep but unfortunately neither of us did. The noise on the second night was horrendous due to a large bunch of students staying in the hotel ,as they where making lots of noise from 10pm until about 2am. Banging doors and people shouting was a common theme for both nights. The carpark has very limited parking and most roads close by require resident parking permits. Make up your own minds before booking here but I seriously cannot recommend staying here again.

Good location only 10 minutes walk to the centre of York. Staff very nice room had tv with Netflix and Prime on. Beds on the small side but room was fine. The car park was full when we arrived so had to find alternative parking. We waited a couple of hours then got a space in the hotel one.

Find it hard to believe that no staff on site heard the people loudly running, knocking shouting and keeping everyone up at 2am. Dog didn't sleep and neither did we.

Great location for exploring the city. Close to the main train station. Reception staff all lovely and helpful. Had a twin room. Only concern is that the lights next to the beds were filthy and a lot of dust under the beds. Had a good time, it was only our neighbours who ruined the experience, they were extremely loud, banging about and could hear their conversations until 2.30am. Not the hotels fault I know but did ruin the experience for us.
