Having stayed at the ibis during lockdown due to a funeral we had a pleasant stay friendly staff were on hand 24/7. Room was basic but clean and good value.

Reception staff great, room comfortable plenty of tv channels. Thought the Manager was a bit abrupt when i arrived questioning me about tiers and where i had travelled from. Made me feel awkward and unwelcome so for that reason wont stay again.

We was in room 107, the next door to the left through the early to mate evening was making noise and banging on the walls. Extremely dissatisfied as it ruined our stay and we remained out in the town for as long as possible due to this.

We got the room early as planned, we got a newly refurbished room as requested which was modern and comfy, we would happily stay often if we could get this or similar room again, good onsite parking, good checkout time and for the money we paid very happy

In need of maintenance

Room doors don't close very well allowing light and noise through. Our room was in desperate need of maintenance, some new fittings, new carpet, a deep clean, etc.

Room needs a deep clean and painting

Staff were very friendly when checking in. However when entering the room it smelt strongly of cigarettes. The walls were dirty. The curtains had filthy marks all over them. There were patches of mould all over the room and the bathroom and paint was peeling from the ceiling. My husband and eye wiped everything down with antibacterial wipes as we weren't sure how well the room had been cleaned prior to our arrival. It was ok for 1 night but the room really needs a deep clean and a paint.

A good location, breakfast very good, staff friendly, Covid awareness with sanitiser, masks in public areas, couldn't work out how to get subtitles on the TV! , hotel a little outdated must be time for a refurburbishment? , but a good stay and would stay again.

Great price and location

Basic Ibis hotel within walking distance to York town Centre with a car park. Sadly my stay was spoiled by drunken, selfish, inconsiderate idiots. They were removed by the police at 3a.m so if you don’t want to sleep on a park bench after over indulging on drink and drugs don’t behave like a numpty as it won’t be tolerated at Ibis.

the hotel is really good value for money (at under £50), but it looks a bit old and tired. It is very clean, but the reception stuff were not too helpful when it came to WiFi not working. rooms are a bit small, but not too bad. also, you can hear people from other rooms.

Dirty floor in the room (looks like blood on the carpet), mattress dirty under the sheets. Parking in a very small car park on the back of the hotel is 9 GBP per night. The room and hotel looked very old and shabby. We have slept in a lot better hotels for a smaller price.
