Booked on IBIS website and as it was for a staff member staying for work phoned in advance to pay. Thank God I did. Its closed. Member of staff was polite but clear. Has been closed for months because of COVID. He was amazed to find it was still open on website

It was shut

Arrived at the hotel only to be met by workmen who informed me that the hotel was closed for three months. Begs the question why accepting booking if long term closure? However, following a phone call they did arrange alternate accommodation at a nearby hotel - so only had minimal inconvenience overall

Good stay

I was informed by a letter under the door that the hotel was being closed 'due to government restrictions', and I would need to leave the following morning. Alternative accomodation was not directly offered, and I had to ask at reception repeatedly to secure a different hotel for the remaining nights on my booking. On arriving at the new hotel, I found that the ibis receptionist had booked, but not paid for the new room, and only after two long phone calls to ibis and some embarrasment with the new hotel, ibis paid for the room and I was able to check in.

uncomfortable - disappointing

238raghada Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

I drove from London and booked a double room for £65. I arrived at midnight having a conference the next day. I can honestly say that it was the worst stay every in all my years. I thought as long as the bed is comfortable it should do, That was the worst part, the mattress was thin and I could feel the frame under my back. Let alone the noise coming from the power house underneath my room. I am normally an easy person but this was a horrible stay. i was so glad my mum didn't come with me. I could not wait for the morning to leave the hotel and I told the desk how I felt and they apologised! I say avoid if you want to sleep well. I thought people were exaggerating in their reviews but for a nice building from the outside they could have matched the quality of their rooms.
