Great service from the night Manager Steven. Was very helpful and represented the hotel with distinction. Gave great advice with everything we needed after a 30 hour journey from Australia. The room was suitable for 2 nights prior to our cruise

Mattresses need replacing

We could barely sleep when we stayed. Theatresses must be 20 years old. Yellowed and uncomfortable memory foam mattresses that have big dips in the center so you are constantly rolling into each other. The room was clean and the linens were clean and fine, but the AC doesn't work properly and the room was boiling. Spend a bit more and go elsewhere.

Easy walk from main rail and bus stations. Large car park, 4 electric car charging points. Short distance from cruise terminals. Auto door on entrance to ground floor reception wheelchair accessible rooms. Secure entry lift over 4 floors. Our twin room on 2nd floor was well equipped spacious and brightly decorated. Beds and duvet were very comfortable all lights controlled from bed. Heating was temp using oil filled electric radiator main aircon unit not functioning properly. Great overhead hot shower. Large towels, liquid soap provided. Slept well occasion noise from traffic in corridor (some people!). Included continental breakfast has a good choice of cereal cheese cold meat yogurt croissants. There is a toaster and a microwave along with juices and hot drinks. The location on ground floor has very practice and co-ordinated table and chairs. For 2 or 4 people with a conservatory feel bright and airy. For the price we paid it was excellent value for money. Only fault with bedroom for me was the flooring - no carpets or rugs - cold floor. But very practical for keeping clean. There is no kettle in rooms.

This hotel is definitely budget. My room was basic with a shower and sink to one side of the small room, rather than in a bathroom. The toilet was behind a separate door that felt like a cupboard. The mattress on the bed was very thin - only just more than a topper. There was a small tv on the wall in the corner with a small desk under but only a plastic stool to sit on. The only socket I could find to plug my charger / laptop in was hidden up behind the tv screen and no sockets at the side of the bed. There was no curtain, just a blind that I had to pull down manually. There was no carpet but plastic lino throughout. On the plus side, the room was clean with air conditioning. The reception area felt grubby but the staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly I would not choose to stay here again.
