I have stayed here on a few occasions and for a while have thought the hotel needs a refurbishment as it’s looking dated. However if was very clean and no real issues apart from one of the lifts being broken which meant getting anywhere took ages and there wasn’t an out of order sign to be seen! Obviously the location is ideal for flying out of Gatwick as it’s literally connected to the north terminal. However the price is really poor value for money in my opinion especially given the cost of food and drink as well…. £170 a night and then £30-50 per person for dinner and a drink it really starts to add up. Bar service was not very good and wasn’t clear if it was table service or not, our drinks got spilt by the waiting staff. So For one room with our food and drink it came to £278 for a single night

We booked last minute after missing a flight and found the Gatwick Sofitel a shot walk from the North Terminal. Very pleasantly surprised by the upscale hotel and service.

Disappointed to find that a chair was not provided for the small circular table in the room. Curious what one is supposed to sit on when working or having a meal. The excuse provided was that the hotel was under renovations and no chairs were available --ridiculous !! However on my request a metal soft chair (perhaps from the conference room) was provided. Otherwise my stay at the hotel was good.

We had booked a superior room but was very disappointed as we couldn’t see any difference at all to the basic room that we had stayed in before - refillable toiletries were all missing - only three small toiletries available- food was nice but expensive- we weren’t told we can have 10% off our food and drink so we missed out on that - overall experience disappointing- we are staying at Gatwick airport at the beginning of June and have decided to stay elsewhere
