The aircon/heater in my room didn’t work-it was stuck on heat and the room was a sauna. The TV didn’t have sound. The water temp in the shower was either burning hot, or ice bath cold-no in between

Great location had stayed previously but found this stay not as good. Lacking communication in one place eg folder - such as accessing wifi, food menu, ability to not have room cleaned for sustainability, water etc . This info was spread around on separate cards, internet etc like a treasure hunt. Obviously busy as our room not ready at check-in ( over 2 hour wait). We stayed two nights - went out for day and came back 2.30 to put feet up - room not made up. Food ( breakfast and room service dinner was ok and met the need) For the price and our previous experience we expected a more .

Room was not ready at check in time and waited just under an hour for it to be handed to us. 3 other couples had to wait as well. In the meantime we were offered a voucher due to waiting so long to have a refreshment at the Novotel next door. This voucher never was given to us. Very basic room. No tissues or tea towel.

Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast buffet great selection, plenty of food and excellent quality. Evening meal restaurant - I ate 4 nights and the meat was always tough or overcooked. Veg and chip portions are far too much. Reduce veg by 50% and chips by 50-60%

I travelled for work staying 5 nights and since day one we had no aircon in the room meaning it was very humid. We brought this up with the front desk and they organised a maintenance man the next day. Only to be told he can’t fix it as it’s a contractor job. We then had no clean sheets changed and no new towels for 3 days as the hotel “simple ran out” how does a hotel run out? And to top it off the showers were cold 99% of the time with very lukewarm water. Not going to be staying here again personally

We arrived on time for check-in at 3pm, only to be told that our room wasn’t ready. We were advised that someone would call us once it was available, but no one contacted us. After waiting and wandering around Rotorua for several hours, I called the hotel myself at around 8:30pm, only to be told that we had been missed due to the staff changeover. This was extremely disappointing and not the level of service we expected. Once we finally checked in, there was no Wi-Fi. I contacted the front desk and was told that it was working “down here” and that a technician would be asked to look into it the following day. Unfortunately, Saturday night when we returned from our whānau function, we still had no Wi-Fi and, on top of that, no TV. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. We paid good money for our stay and expected a basic level of service, communication and support. Instead, we experienced delays, poor communication and facilities that simply weren’t working, with very little support from staff. We will not be returning. For the price we paid, the service was nowhere near what we expected, and the whole experience left us very disappointed.

when we arrived late afternoon. our room had been changed from a x2 queens to x1 king bed room. i was travelling with my children, we booked our room for a reason and had even put notes down as to children staying, and had checked in online prior. our room wasnt ready til close to 6pm.. we were tired after a long day and needed to get ready to go out for dinner. nothing was offered for our trouble.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Our room was not ready at the advertised check-in time, and we ended up waiting more than 2 hours. When we contacted reception, we were simply told that the room was “not ready,” with no apology or meaningful explanation for the delay other than “ we are busy today”. The room itself was very small and cramped for a double room advertised with two double beds and a city view. There was no actual city view from our room. Instead, the window looked directly towards the rooms of guests in the Novotel hotel on the opposite side, The bathroom was also disappointing. The shower was extremely small, and it took quite a while for the hot water to come through. Even the tea/coffee facilities felt poorly thought out. The milk was provided in small glass bottles without any lids or covers, which was not particularly hygienic or practical. Overall, considering the room description and the level of service we expected, the experience did not meet our expectations. The 2 hour wait for the room, lack of apology, misleading “city view,” cramped room and bathroom, and small details such as the uncovered milk bottles made the stay particularly disappointing

I returned to ibis Rotorua after five years. I was only there for a short stay on my way to Auckland, but it was wonderful to see that the staff were just as friendly and welcoming as they were before. The facilities were excellent, and my room was spotlessly clean. I would love to stay a little longer next year. Thank you for another wonderful stay!
