I had a room booked at the same hotel in August 2020, it obviously couldn’t be used. I chose to carry over the booking, but have been unable to use the credit. Your website, app are not user friendly and your staff were too busy to help. Please arrange a full refund as soon as possible.

Tired hotel and uncomfortable bed

Some positives from this stay (easy access and well located) but the room was tired and needing refurbishment. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable - did not get a good nights sleep. It was my first stay in an ibis budget, so perhaps I missed the point of the 'budget' part, but having stayed in other budget hotels this fell short of expectations unfortunately.

From online checking in to departure my whole experience was positive. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel itself was clean and with ample notices about Covid and the steps being taken. The room was comfortable and fitted my needs perfectly. Would definitely use again

Poor value, no Covid safety, generally grim.

Arrived to a reception full of drunk people not observing social distancing. Staff were very nice but walking around without facemasks. Police were in attendance at a room on my floor which was disconcerting. Room was clean and quiet but very basic for the £53 I paid. My companions paid far less for exactly the same thing - no idea why! Breakfast was grim so I didn't take it up and went across the road.

Terrible stay - hairs in the bed

The hotel room was shocking. Hairs were found on both beds. One bed was not made up although the room was sold. There was also a dead bug found on the table and one on the floor. I reception area was full of drunk people without masks on and not social distancing. I tried to call to complain but no one answered the phone. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Myself and friends travelled down from the north east for the cricket at Edgebaston and stayed in the Ibis. The rooms were clean and what you would expect them to be, slight downfall was the quality of the mattress as it was a bit thin but other than that it could not be faulted. Great value for the money, very friendly and polite staff

Ideally situated for the cricket, this basic hotel got most things right. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good and the car park facing room was quiet. However, the key card failed to work twice and the telly did not work at all (luckily I wasn't really going to watch it so I did not report it) Staff were good and I would stay again.

One of the advantages of lockdown should have been the opportunity for hotels to refurbish or at least spruce up their properties. This clearly didn’t happen at this hotel. Very dirty carpets. Locks or cards that didn’t work, even staff had this problem and in room 208 bedside lights not working. No room cleaning either.

What no marmalade?

I'm a returning customer, and I would say the room experience was the same as before - OK. I don't really like the stool for sitting on - I would prefer a chair with a back rest for working at the table and watching TV. My main grumble this time was about breakfast, two things. 1. The coffee machine was out of beans. Yes that happens, but they had to send someone out on a bike to get more beans and we waited a good ten minutes. 2. I asked for marmalade with my toast but there was none. English hotel without marmalade? - unthinkable. Your kitchen supply system needs to maintain stock of everything that might run out, think ahead rather than react.

Stayed for 3 days had no clean towels brought to us each day, and when u went to ask for some soap and towels the staff were extremely rude about it. Bed was uncomfortable and the shower had water coming out the bottom that went on my bags, to top it all off on the last night had someone beeping their horn in the car park at 6am in the morning continuously

Room had no air conditioning and the TV had a sticky subtance on the side and didnt work. There was also a stain on the mattress protector so slept on top of the duvet.

Room was not clean, not enough towers for a couple, breakfast so poor with Nutella instead of fruit... parking not included without an option to park the car anywhere, horrible insolation from the rest of the rooms.. Never Ibis budget again

Okay for a short stay

Booked a triple room for a one night stay and it wasn’t exactly what I expected. I thought there would be a sofa bed for the third person but it was a single bunk bed on top of the double bed which wasn’t ideal at first but we made it work. The single bunk bed was also not properly made which was a shame and difficult to do but, the bed was comfortable to sleep in. It was okay for a one night stay but probably more of a place for younger people and quick trips. Our room card also didn’t work initially but this was dealt with very well and quickly. The thermostat in the room however wasn’t working on a fairly warm night which was disappointing. Overall it was okay stay but don’t know if I’d stay there again with family, maybe friends.

The hotel is closed to Chinese quarter which is convenient to buy things. The staff is polite, good and responsive. Due to covid situation, no room service available but we can request to change the room if needed. This hotel is highly recommended.
