Habe mehrmals schon bei Mercure Hotels eingecheckt. Leider entspricht dieses Hotel kein Mercure Standard . Sonst wird man mit Getränk begrüßt und die Koffer werden beim Parken schon entgegen genommen . Als wir im Zimmer waren viel gleich der Boden auf mit den Haaren vom vor Bewohner auf und die toten Insekten . Haben deswegen auch gleich aus gecheckt .

Check in um 11 a.m. war gar kein Problem, sehr netter Empfang. Hotel liegt zentral, alles fußläufig zu erreichen, aber trotzdem ruhig. Zimmer waren schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, Möbel sehr abgenutzt, ein update wäre mal nötig. Housekeeping personal was sehr freundlich, ein dickes Lob, neues Wasser zu bekommen war gar kein Problem. Pool war groß, aber viel zu wenig liegen, so daß morgens um 8 schon alles belegt war, mit Handtüchern und ohne Gäste. Ich mußte meinen Liegestühl vom Balkon mitnehmen. Dieser Zustand muß dringend geändert werden. Frühstück war ebenfalls ausreichen, es gab alles was man braucht. Die meisten Gäste am Pool waren Europäer, beim Frühstück waren viele Inder anwesend, welche den Tisch in einem riesigen Müllhaufen verlassen haben, mit jede menge Essenresten und vollen Tellern. Ansonsten sind mir die Inder nicht negativ aufgefallen, Chinesen waren eigentlich fast gar nicht im Hotel. Für den Zimmerpreis gibt es aber auch in Pattaya schönere, moderne Zimmer in anderen Hotel.

Gute, zentrale Lage, aber laute Gäste

Das Hotel hat eine super zentrale Lage, was schon einmal ein Pluspunkt ist. Am Pool haben wir zu jeder Tageszeit eine Liege, Schirm und Handtücher bekommen. Das Personal hat bei Anfragen und Bitten sofort reagiert, war nett und hilfsbereit. Minuspunkt: Sehr laute chinesische Reisegruppen beim Frühstück, das Buffet glich nach dem Frühstück einem Schlachtfeld. Sehr laute indische Reisegruppen, keine Nachtruhe möglich, da nicht nur die Zimmer, sondern auch die Gänge bis weit nach Mitternacht genutzt wurden, Gerenne auf dem Flur, lautes Brüllen und Gekreische. Das Hotelmanagement müsste dafür sorgen, dass sich ALLE Gäste an die Regeln halten.

Wir waren vor ein paar Jahren das erste Mal im Mercure. Damals war unser Eindruck sehr gut und deshalb gingen wir dieses Jahr wieder in dieses Hotel. Positiv ist die Lage, die sich durch den Zugang zur Second Road noch einmal deutlich verbessert hat. Auch der Pool geht, wenn auch die Liegen erneuert gehören und tagsüber sofort belegt sind. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ansonsten hat das Hotel deutlich verloren. Die Zimmer gehören renoviert, das Bad ist nicht sauber (s. Bilder). Auch das Frühstück ist nicht mehr so gut, wie es in den ersten Jahren nach der Eröffnung war. Mit dem europäischen Standard der Mercure-Hotels hat es jedenfalls nichts gemein. Vielleicht liegt es auch mit daran, dass es jetzt ein Durchgangshotel für indische und arabische Reisegruppen geworden ist. Kein 4-Sterne-Hotel!

Ich hatte ein Deluxe-Zimmer gebucht und dies wohl auch bekommen. Allerdings zur Parkplatzseite hin, wo am Morgen recht viele Busse standen, kamen und gingen. Dies war recht laut, da in jedem Bus die Klimaanlage lief. Deshalb bat ich um ein anderes Zimmer, das ich auch ein Stockwerk tiefer zur Poolseite bekam. Dieses Zimmer sah anders aus, ob es noch Deluxe war, weiß ich nicht. In den anderen Zimmern auf diesem Stockwerk waren allerdings überwiegend Chinesen, die den Hotelflur als Teil des Zimmers betrachteten. Dort war es also häufig auch hier recht laut. Da ich nur vier Tage im Mercure übernachtet habe, hatte ich keine Lust ein weiteres Mal umzuziehen. Im Zimmer fiel mir auf, dass der Ventilator und die Armaturen im Bad schon mal bessere Zeiten gesehen hatten. Auch sahen die Füsse des Bettes alles andere als appetitlich aus. Die Balkonstühle könnten auch mal ersetzt werden. Das wirkte schon ein wenig renovierungsbedürftig. Unangenehm heiß war es auch im Fahrstuhl, der Ventilator schien dort nicht so recht zu funktionieren. Grundsätzlich war aber alles sehr sauber, besonders die Zimmer. Und die Freundlichkeit des Personals war schon besonders. Das hat mir sehr gut gefallen.
