It was an impromptu stop on our way from Warsaw to Paris. We (my two young kids and I) flew in early on July 20 and planned to spend a day in Luxembourg before taking a train to Paris the next morning. When we arrived at the hotel around 10 am, we were hoping to be able to leave our luggage before we could check in and go for an exploratory walk. However, it turned out I made a mistake when booking the room and reserved a room at a DIFFERENT Sofitel, quite outside the city. You cannot imagine how upset at myself I was. But here comes Jessica, the front desk hero - since I had made the reservation through the hotel website, she was able to call the other hotel and transfer the booking to her Sofitel; she also gave us an upgrade and was able to check us in immediately. She will forever be remembered as the hospitality clerk who saves your day, and with the most welcoming smile and grace! We proceeded to have the most memorable and wonderful day in Luxembourg, visiting restaurants and sites recommended by the hotel concierge (and I'm sorry I don't remember his name but he was lovely and very informative). We closed the day at the top floor bar with the view of the city at sunset and delicious treats. Amidst the summer full of travel, numerous flights, train trips, and hotel stays, this particular place will be always a treasured memory thanks to the extraordinary staff of Sofitel Grand Ducal and the beauty of the city.

I cannot fault the staff in any way. Every single one showed the utmost respect to my husband and I and our dog! The rooms are incredibly clean and the bed is just soooo comfy. Sofitel is a fantastic place to stay but if I had to have a little moan I’d say the plumbing is a little noisy and the drains smell a bit which does come through the shower cubicle and into the room. This obviously isn’t something that the staff can control but it needs some attention. That said I would choose this hotel over others because we feel so welcome and our dog is happy being spoilt by the staff.
