Constant traffic noise and jack hammers during the day. Walls are paper thin and you can hear the people in the next room. If someone in the near rooms turns the water on/off your shower goes freezing to scolding. The bed was the hardest ever, 2 days at home and still feeling the effects.

Pleased there was no extra charge for car parking. Bistro needs to upgrade it's menu. Why isn't the dining room open at night for dinner? Wine at the Bistro was rather expensive $14 for a glass of Chardonnay!

Short weekend stay. Room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed the antique experience throughout the venue. Breakfast however was very poor. Tables are not cleared or wiped down within a reasonable time frame, coffee machine both mornings we were there didn't work and food was ok, but only ok (bacon was quite leather like). Improvement in food situation would greatly improve the overall experience.

Easy walk to city centre very useful to avoid very high parking fees everywhere. Good size room and amenities but little things like breakfast coffee machine failing on 3 consecutive days and running out of things like marmalade and croissants. .

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I found my room was right over the kitchen exhaust fans and was moved to a quiet room. There was only one towel and no bath mat or washer but that was quickly rectified. The door opener stopped working but again quickly rectified.

This hotel has the best staff, the majority gave 110%, it makes such a difference to a stay when you are surrounded by pleasant people. The room was huge, the bed was very comfortable, the hot water and water pressure in the shower were superb. The only negative was something out of the hotels control, it’s an old hotel, and that’s part of the charm, but it’s very cold. As I said, I don’t think it’s something they can do anything about given the hotels age, and it was very cold in Canberra last week. Even with the heater on we were cold. We actually thought the lounge area could be improved by having an open fire, just a suggestion. The hotel is about 10 mins easy walk from the centre of Canberra. Taxis and Ubers were also in abundance.

The location is a plus as it is easy to get to and is also an easy walk into the town centre and the good size of the rooms

Nice big room, good having a decent size bench in the bathroom and lots of power points to charge multiple devices ( although one beside the bed did not work) . Poor carpet laying creates potential trip hazards and, while it is good having extra pillows and duvets, it results in having very little storage space for clothes in the wardrobe. Good lighting and a lovely comfortable chair. Nice having an outdoor spot to sit in fine weather. Friendly and helpful staff. Would have liked weekday breakfast time to go a bit later. It is our go to place when visiting Canberra and we will be back.

Room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. However, I did not receive my newspaper. I found the décor in bistro area poor maintained. Could do with a major spruce up.

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful old historical hotel. Well serviced bistro a nice menu. Suited us going to war museum etc. a little out of town but not to far. Nice snd quit staff were lovey. Especially the lovely lady on in the bar and breakfast during our stay

Its been sometime since staying at the this hotel and its always been my Canberra accommodation when I'm in town. The Hotel has charm and I understand that. But, the rooms are in desperate need of a revamp, the bed has seen better days. The shower was full of mould and my sheets had hard black balls throughout them. When I requested more pillows it seems as though they didn't want to assist me. In saying that I did receive my extra pillows but it took some convincing. I never received my usual gold member welcome gift and that was disappointing. Over all this visit was a little average.

Comfortable Historic building hotel

Reception was very friendly, making sure we know the building layout and where we could have breakfast and where the bistro is. No complaints about the room, minor quible is that we could not get the (seemingly new) TV to work properly, always one or two apps crashed.
