from the center - Small bathroom. - Breakfast should be open buffet. Inadequate. In the country of cheese, they brought very little cheese cut thinly. - The hotel interior should be renewed. It is old.

It's a Stroller ...not a Mercure...definitely not a 4* hotel ... adjust your expectations accordingly

It seems that this outdated hotel somehow managed to become part of the Accorhotels chain, but its management and personnel is still with an outdated service mentality. NO effort to fulfil my booking request for a high floor quiet room... despite being a GOLD member of their loyalty program. I doubt if they ever read it. I know it is depended on availability ... but it seems it was available and if you stay for 6 nights, they can always make sure that even if it is not available upon check-in, they will manage to transfer you one of the next days and fulfill the request of a gold customer. I was assigned a noisy room at first floor. The check-in receptionist relocated me to a top-floor room in an annexed building without windows ...just a balcony door... and low roof beams. 6 nights in a small and gloomy room like being in a dungeon cell. To get the 4* rating probably they had to include some "unique" features ... so there was a small screen in the bathroom indicating no AV signal. Probably the sound and video from TV should be carried over .. but it was always out-of-order and it is not useful anyway. No slippers, no nespresso machine ... just a crappy no-name imitation with disgusting coffee capsules. The biggest marketing lie is that in the web-description of the room they advertise "mini-bar with free soft drinks" (plural number) and it is just one 250ml Coca-Cola full sugar. Cheapie attitude ... definitely not Mercure. After more than 30 nights this year in real Mercure hotels, I can guarantee that. Breakfast is a not buffet ... it is a-la carte with unlimited orders. That means that you have to wait 20 minutes every morning to prepare your order ... and 15 minutes every time you want something extra. And one of the mornings the tall brunette service lady forgot to press the order button in the PDA ...she kept re-assuring me that my breakfast is on its way ... finally serving me something intended for another customer ... just to have something before leaving for my meeting. The worst thing is that she never apologised. Instead the shorter blond lady with the glasses offered her apologies ... and repeated apologising even the next morning. A big thank you to her for being customer centric and polite. The worst part of this stay was the iterations to avoid double-charging on check-out. I asked for check out the last night to avoid queuing in the morning. I was deferred to morning shift, apparently because he was lazy. After insisting, he checked my room number and asked me to hand over my credit card for the payment. I had already provided my credit card both for the reservation and for check-in. Supposedly my payment was "cancelled" and I had to pay again. I refused to hand-over my credit card again and then he struggled to find the payment ...he blamed his morning colleague for the supposedly 'cancellation" of my payment... he blamed their "old" system ... How can it be old if it is part of the Mercure chain? Probably they are having two systems and use the Mercure one just to copy-paste into their outdated one. He searched in their back room and finally he found whatever he needed and everything went smoothly, without me having to give my credit card again. It seems that my pre-authorised payment was assigned to the initial room in the first floor... and with all this hassle I was lucky not to pay for both. Well, the most important factor is "sleep comfort". The old heat-radiator is warming up the room slowly, so only the first night the room was cold. If you are there just for one night ... tough luck! YES the mattress was great! ... and the duvet was also large and appropriate for the bed size. So, if you forget you are in a cell, you enjoy a good night sleep. Commuting also to the city center and back is super easy with the trams just outside the front door and it takes only 13 minutes.
