Had a relaxing 1 night stay. Felt Covid safe ,there were clear one way systems in place. Breakfast nice.

Disappointing in comparison to our usual stay

We were kept waiting for quite a while during our booking-in procedure, there were three clients in the queue in front of us and only one receptionist. A second receptionist appeared just as we moved to the desk, so we had the ridiculous situation of having one receptionist for queue of 5 clients and two receptionists when we were the only clients left waiting to check in! We had booked an executive room - we were given 1315, the room looked jaded with stains on the carpet and had 2 screws sticking out of the wall, where, presumably, a picture was supposed to be. The room was very noisy as it backs on to the lift shaft - we had noise all night up until around 3.00am as the lifts were in constant use! The provision of tea/coffee etc was poor - we only had 2 small cartons of milk (I texted for more as the instruction sheet provided by reception advised) and nobody even bothered to reply to the text. We had only been given two paper cups so we had to reuse these from the night before for our morning cuppa - bit nasty that!! I would state for the record that our Chicken Caesar salads were excellent as always and the staff in the bar/restaurant were very nice. But ...... you really must do better to keep our custom, very, very disappointed overall!!

I’d booked the Ibis so was pleasantly surprised to be transferred to the Novotel. The initial greeting was warm but then it transpired my booking and payment for breakfast couldn’t be found. After some delay and computer checking it was eventually found and the front desk team were apologetic. The hotel is ok, it’s clean and tidy and has a bit of extra comfort over the Ibis. The atmosphere was a bit quiet. But at breakfast the confusion over the breakfast booking sadly continued, it couldn’t be found and I was told I’d need to ‘take it up with reception’ myself. I asked if they wouldn’t mind checking for me as I’d already gone through this the day before but that was met with apathy and she made the point it was her last day and doesn’t really care. With all that in mind id describe it as a very mediocre experience in a half empty soulless disorganised hotel in the midst of a pandemic, and I’m in no rush to go back.

I regret that you didn't have our usual standard of smooth check in since information were missing from your reservation. I am sorry that the confusion about your booking continued during the breakfast although we have to accept that mistakes do happen, it is equally important that I state how sorry I am for the inconvenience experienced. I would like to let you know that since then we have improved: we have all the reservations from Ibis already moved to our system and double checked before guests arrive. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Best regards,

A good room in town center

A very professional approach from the staff regarding everything we needed. We had room service cocktails and we got the swimming pool as extra (we had been upgraded from our Ibis stay next door to this room). The room itself was big and modern with a large tv and a modern bathroom. The only complaint about the room was the cigarrette smoke present in the room (or coming from the aircon) which for a non smoker it can't be missed (hence why the sleep quality rating is lower rated by me).

Had two nights here and had a great stay. The pool and gym are open early and close late and the rooms are a great size the staff were lovely and helpful, and we enjoyed a meal in the bar once. It was 10 x better than your average hotel
