Marissa and Raquel are the best! I was exhausted from traveling and they were so kind to get me into my room early. There’s a large group staying here (that I’m not a part of) so it was no easy task. While listening to them coordinating with housekeeping, they suggested I have a seat while they worked their magic. I was so surprised when Marissa came to get me about ten minutes later. So friendly and accommodating. Much appreciated!

Amazing check-in desk and lovely people works here. Marissa checked us in earlier which it was a great plus. The location is great if you stay during mid-week, it's a nightmare on weekend. Very loud crowd gathering at anytime during the night, are you window soundproof? Biggest negative downside, room was way too hot. Yeah, I get that a lot, you got Air Cooling System as opposed to the traditional Air Conditioning Unit, fair play for the environment and all of that. But, did you maintenance team set up to release cool air in rooms? I don't think so. Great idea to have a mini-supermarket in the hotel but if your price for a bottle of beer is £5, your shelves will remains full for a looooong time. Last thing: what happened to the family corner? I thought Novotel was family oriented..

The hotel is ideally located in the centre or Reading with both parking and easy access to the train station, and a lovely wellness centre, including a pool. Our bedroom was very spacious, with a separate toilet and both shower and bath in the main bathroom. Downsides: it was very hot, even in April, and there were not enough high chairs in the breakfast room to accommodate all babies.

Very easy check in. Marissa and Toni were extremely helpful and explained everything about our stay. Buffet breakfast was good which had cooked, continental, fresh fruit and pastries on offer. Room was spacious with very comfy bed Perfect location for town centre and train station.

Close to the station but uncomfortably hot

Most Novotels I've been to are ok. This one's plus points are that it is near the station and the staff are really helpful. The room was ok but way too hot. The cooling system didn't do the job at all despite it being quite cool outside. With a window that can only open about 2 inches, the room temperature was sweltering even with a powerful (but dusty) fan that the hotel provided. They really need to fix their broken cooling system. The noise from the street till late in the night also made it hard to sleep. Looks like the area has a fair few night clubs.
