If you cannot afford to stay in a luxury hotel, how do you manage your expectations for your stay? This thought stayed with me during my fortnight sojourn across Europe and I came up with some evaluation criteria: Location - The Pullman could not be more ideally located, about 400 yards from St. Pancras Train Station where we would be taking the Channel Tunnel train. There were also pubs and restaurants directly across the street. We were right in the heart of London. Rooms - Spacious room, excellent walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head and torrents of hot water. You would be surprised how often a hotel bathroom can be disappointing. Amenities - A great bar, with places to sit and have an afternoon tea. Apparently the hotel restaurant is even frequented by locals. I did NOT check out the gym or if there was a spa. Impressions - I must specifically mention two of the reception staff, Loreana and Sonia, who made my 99 year old Father feel like royalty. OK so there were no chocolates on the pillows but the hotel, and staff, provided me with everything I wanted, and more!

The location near St Pancras was excellent for those arriving on Eurostar like us. However, it was a warm day (24 C) when we arrived and the room was very hot. We turned up the air con expecting it to cool down and left it on while we went out. Unfortunately, it did not cool down. Long story short, the hotel has "cooling" not "air conditioning". They supplied us with a fan which did cool the room down and enabled us to sleep. However, the bedding (like in seemingly all hotels these days!) is too warm. We took the duvet out of its cover and used it as a top sheet. That way we were able to sleep ok. It's all very well to be climate-friendly, but do something simple to accompany it but providing a top sheet.

Great hotel in a superb location close to Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. Staff very friendly and helpful. Greeted by the door man with a big smile when we arrived! Reception staff happy to help and provide advice on things, and very quick to address needs. Recommended as a good base in London.

Stayed here for one night for a work event Didnt look much on the walk up Euston road but wow... Beautiful entrance and lobby. We didn't use the check in desk as we had to check in with the work event Room wasn't ready but bag was taken up to room when it was available I had a deluxe room The bed was huge Robes and slippers were available Coffee/water Loved the bae area and the unique decor Staff were nice Bed was so comfy and I could adjust the room temp I normally don't like hotel pillows but these were just fine Bathroom clean with toiletries Decent breakfast

This hotel has a great fun vibe, is comfortable and has good service. The rooms are clean, staff are helpful and the restaurant has a varied and seasonal food selection. A popular spot for drinks with an extensive list of Gin, has live music on Wednesdays and DJ on Thursdays and Fridays. The location is great, within easy walking distance to the underground and on a major bus route. Plenty restaurants in the area as well.
