Professional and courteous staff with great advice. Reasonably priced for a central location walking distance to the station, casino, shopping and sites.

Air conditioning shutoff of for the season, but in a room which has no windows, there is no capability to cool down the room. It was a very hot room.

I booked a our stay as a surprise gift for me and my fiance. I have just proposed a on that day and she said yes. I thought novotel will take good care of us. I have shared why I will be going beforehand with the hotel and also chose a junior suite. Upon arrival, nobody knew about my email as they said their systems were down. Then I asked if they could do something nice for the apartment to surprise my fiance, and they said it is a really short notice but they will try and it will cost extra 30. I’m not sure how the short notice was my fault as I informed days before. I was surprised at the charge but it’s okay. Even regular restaurants treated us better and welcomed our news more. Anyways an earlier check in is now not possible due to “last minute” adjustment. When we finally are ready to check in. They first try to charge 100£ on my card and then change it to 250£, they can’t really explain why and say I just should not worry about it, it’s just something to do with the system being down. Anyways we get the keys, we go up. I get my phone ready to record the surprise, our card is for room 925. But I see little decoration on room 923. I had a bad feeling already then. Anyways we open 925, and there are other people inside! Surprise it is, but not a good one. So we go downstair again with our luggage, tell them the issue, and they change our card to 923. We got a sorry, but nothing else. We go up, open the door, the decoration is nice so well done to the person who did it. Drained from waiting and the struggle I try to get a cold drink from the mini fridge but it is not plugged in, so everything inside is lukewarm. So I skip the drink. We go on the balcony the enjoy the view, which is spectacular but the glasses are messy and dirty which really ruins the luxury feel. Then while I’m trying out to see if the heating works, to make sure at night time we will be fine. I can’t get it to work. I call the frontdesk, they say a technician will come. We are waiting for 40minutes and nobody is coming. At this point we are just waiting as we don’t want to go anywhere or start a bath if someone is coming. Finally we end up going down ourselves to ask whats happening, and they tell us oh you have to close to windows for it to work, which is fair but couldn’t have they told us in the phone?? How much longer we would have waited for this and do I really need to go down every time? This is a very special sacred life moment for us and for this price I wanted everything to go smooth and to be treated nicely, which did not happen. I swallowed a lot and did not complain too much in real to make sure I don’t ruin the experience for my fiance even more. Not what I expected and it is a bit sad that this one in a life time moment is stained forever.
