During our recent stay at Sofitel Bangkok, unfortunately the experience was not as smooth as expected. While the hotel maintains a beautiful property and the staff were polite, there were several issues that impacted our overall stay. One of the trainee staff members spoke very softly, making it quite difficult to hear and understand, even after multiple attempts. Additionally, our room key cards did not work on several occasions, requiring repeated trips to the front desk, which was inconvenient. The most frustrating part of the stay was the billing process. There was a mistake made with the payment, and settling the bill became unnecessarily complicated. At the time of writing, we are still waiting for the refund to be processed, which has added to the disappointment. Overall, this stay did not meet the standard we have previously associated with the Sofitel brand. We hope these concerns can be addressed to improve the experience for future guests.

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was disappointing. The bathroom repeatedly flooded into the toilet and dressing area every time we showered, which was extremely frustrating. Having to constantly mop up the water when all we wanted was a simple shower took away from the comfort of our stay. The faucet in our room was also broken. We reported it to the staff at Club Millésime, but no one came to fix it until we followed up the next day. Additionally, we frequently had to request extra toilet paper from housekeeping. The food/snack selection at Club Millésime was underwhelming overall, although the tempura was excellent. When we requested a late checkout, the front desk agent informed us that only an additional 30 minutes could be granted. The issue wasn’t the limited time, it was the dismissive and unprofessional manner in which it was communicated. That interaction was, without question, the worst service experience I’ve ever had at any hotel. Kevin, along with a particular lady stationed at the entrance, were highlights of our stay and truly stood out as positives, aside from the hotel’s convenient location. For comparison, we stayed at the Kimpton Maa-Lai prior to arriving at the Sofitel. Despite spending only three days there versus eight at the Sofitel, the level of service at the Kimpton made us feel like royalty.

Hotel location was very good. The room was comfortable. The shower was leaky causing dripping sound for 30-60 mins after finish showering. Not a big disturbance, but could have been better. We went for the Club Milliesme this stay but will likely not do so in the future. The lounge was nice but we didn't think that the experience was all that special. Not enough staff during peak hours, and selection of food items was average.
